Any TIVO trading spouses w/ the Vegan Lady

Hey guys- (if you haven't seen the episode you probably wont know what I am talking about)

 I am not a big fan of TV, but last night I happened to catch Trading spouses where one mom was a Vegan and the other lived in the bayou on an alligator farm.  I thought this was a perfect demonstration of judgment and pushing ones values down an others throat in a very aggressive fashion.  I just could not believe the utter hypocrisy and feeling of superiority on the super liberal Vegans part.  

The vegan mom, and family, made me feel nauseous with the contempt they had for others way of life.  I laughed at the Vegan mom when she tried alligator meat, and beat the other families dog!   These type of people scare me, especially when they run for office.

I took one look at her husband and KNEW he wasn't happy, but he is probably too much of a wuss to do anything about it.  Their son had his first taste of hypocrisy when he said "I felt really bad that my mom ate meat, because she has never let me eat it before".  She wouldn't even give her husband any money.  I loved his quote "What is mine is hers, and what is hers is hers"

I know I am probably not going to get much support on these forums, but I HATE hypocrisy (probably why I hate politicians)

I saw that too and wanted to smack her for being so judgemental and how dare she tell those parents that they did a bad job at raising their boy!!?? Heck, if I was that kid, I'd have the same attitude.  How bout when she kept harping on "this is good for your health", etc...yet how many ciggs and glasses of wine did she go thru??  

Now you got me all fired up..lol.  That has been my experience though with alot of vegetarians..they are better than the rest of us..*groan*

I'd love to see Dr. Phil take her on..lol!

dramatic tv shows generally are a lie.

Here in Portugal we had at some time ago (in 2 different tvs stations) a program about testing infedility (one still running on tv).

the 1st one you can see thats completly real and the situations are more normal (people  dont cheat like we think, they speak and dont kiss, etc).

the other one its a fake. YOu can see by the way they speak and they act. For example, ALL the situations will end in an almost-sex situation very ridiculous: the cheating person (guy or women) will be almost naked (you dont see anything at all, they are dressed like if they were in the beach) and they will make "dancing" moves, touching their bodies in a very not natural way. They get lots of time in that situation (its even not preliminars) and thats impossible. In any real situation like that, they would be naked at the time and even if dont, you would see other things that you dont see there in the tv show.

In general i dont see any tv at all. i really dont like it. I only see movies from times to times and other things like good docs or really important soccer games.

Like the Dalai Lama would say; you can find thousands of bad things on other people but you should find one on yourself instead.... because you know you can change it....

As for this woman, she should have been sent with the Inuits for a good culture shock; and of course, a good reality check resulting from that.... We all know that Inuits can only, basically, eat meat because of the harsh environment they live in (maybe less today, depending on how ''traditional'' some are). Imagine how she might dictate them....

Runlola: That is exactly what I was thinking.  She gives some vegans a bad name.  But to be honest, that is pretty much the attitude I've gotten (even on these very forums)

What gets me about others like her is they don't even stop to listen to others, they are too busy talking/preaching over them...so sad.

I'm not embarrassed to admit I watch tv and will never get rid of it!  Guess you just need to know what is bovine excrement (am I allowed to say that? lol)  Ok..loving the new edit system...bovine excrement..ROTFLMAO!  apposed to bullshite..very good!

She seemed to have a break thru, yet...not really getting it, ya know?   I think she wouldn't have irritated me so much had she not been such a condesending know it all.  Even the croc family mom made a vegan gumbo.  Now THAT was trying to understand the other side of the coin!  She respected the vegan mom's wishes that no animal be hurt/cooked in her home.

Two different worlds collided on that show, in a big way.

Oops!! sorry Nay; this quotation of the Dalai Lama was directed to this vegan girl, not all of you!! Sorry for the misunderstanding. I said that because she was only criticizing others while drinking and smoking cigs. I have seen this too many time since I studied in cultural anthropology; and ethnocentrism is one of the biggest plague in our world today.... The West ''modern world''culturally hegemonizing the rest; people do not realize this important notion: cultural diversity is as important as biodiversity....
