Heat condition? That's nice. I live with someone who has that, but I have what must be a cold condition to the same extent. There is a cold anger as well as a hot rage, though, if you are interested in knowing of it. I am almost painfully cold right now.

Here is something I found in a book by D. Scott Rogo on astral projection and diet:

The student should begin by fasting or by cutting down food intake.
No food of any sort should be eaten just before an OBE attempt. Overeating may bar any success at OBE travel.
No meat should be eaten during the training program.
The diet should consist mainly of fruits and vegetables.
Carrots are extremely beneficial.
Raw eggs are favorable to the diet and to OB release.
No nuts of any kind are to be eaten.
Peanuts are especially bad.*
Liquids of all types are beneficial, but are not to be used in excess.

*I have placed peanuts in a separate category since they are not actually nuts, but belong to the pea family.

Imagine yourself inside a cone and passing through it. Try to pop out through the top of the cone after squeezing yourself in.
Concentrate on the image of a whirlpool. Imagine yourself swirling through the vortex and out of the body. You should imagine yourself becoming a single point and then expanding as you emerge.
Imagine yourself being carried along on a wave.
Imagine yourself clinging to a coil of rope and being drawn out of the body by it.
Imagine yourself whirling about – and then whirl yourself right out of the body. Or imagine yourself being drawn out through a revolving tube.
Imagine that you are in a tube gradually filling with water. See yourself as a point of light and try to find a tiny hole in the side of the tube from which to escape. Push yourself through it.
Build up an image of yourself as though you were looking at yourself in a mirror. Then transfer consciousness to that image.
Imagine steam rising from a limp cloth; then imagine that you are that steam emerging from (the cloth of) your physical body.

yeah, on nights I don't want to project, I eat a heavy meal http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0>

Tom, in Chinese medicine, "cold" conditions (I use to be cold all the time too) are treated with PEPPERS, and SPICY FOODS among other things.  Warm drinks, for instance.  Food that "sticks to your ribs" (like oatmeal). Try it!  I'd like to know if it works for you, I know it did for me.

My diet isn't especially bad, but I still don't get enough veggies.  It's hard when the bad-for-you foods are cheaper and taste so darn good. http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile_wink.gif" border=0>
On the topic of overeating, here I have my main problem.  I picked up what I'd consider a mild eating disorder a few years back, in that I just don't feel right unless my stomach is quite full.  I've been trying for the last few days to only eat when I actually feel hungry, but so far I've been failing pretty badly.  I feel like I'm literally addicted to food.
Luckily, most of the food I eat isn't too high-calorie or I'd be in real trouble.

Not enough. I can add garlic, ginger, cayenne, and chili powder to my foods until they are gritty but they still taste bland to me and there is no noticeable warmth. I drink coffee, too. Until June 11, I was taking caffeine to the point where even 1.4g to 1.6g daily had no effect. Yellow jackets (300mg caffeine and 25mg ephedrine along with other stimulants) in pairs helped for a while. I had moments of not being cold. The stimulants also stressed me to an extent which became difficult to tolerate.

Tom, my understanding is that caffeine is the WORST for cold conditions.  Sure you get a temporary boost but EGAD!  the long term consequences made my hands and feet feel like ICE.  I think caffeine is  "vaso-constrictor."  Meaning, it makes your blood vessels shrink, that's why they put it in migraine pills.  If I were you, I'd lose the caffeine.  I did, and I'm so GLAD!

Have you tried vigorous exercise instead?

So you think I might still be feeling the long term consequences of almost daily doses of caffeine and ephedrine in vast quantity on top of soda and coffee might still be with me? I have substantially cut back, having stopped the pills. Even before my caffeine habits, however, I still was cold and drowsy.

Tisha

Lose the caffeine and exercise, my friend!   If the thought of "working" out makes you groan, and you like animals, get an active dog and go play!

That's the other problem. I am much more active than most people physically. Back when I had time in college, I would walk in excess of 40 miles in a single day just for fun. It was from one city to another and back. It eventually became easy and I was starting to consider other cities and safe routes to them. Now I don't have that much time, but I am reluctant to allow my body to deteriorate.

Have you gone to a doctor about that Tom?You could have a  deficiency.Like say not enough zinc or some other vitamin.Good for you for stopping the ephedrine and that  other stuff. Its useful for weight loss,But if you dont follow the dosages,it can be deadly.

There have been alot of lawsuits about that certain supplement and the like.
Id get a blood test done,if you havnt already. It could be something as simple as that.

As for veggies.I eat them.Veggies are your friends.Celery is the one I am least fond of.But I will eat practically anything if I know its good for me.Yes even if it taste like chit.Just chew and swallow.Dont think about the taste.http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile_tongue.gif" border=0>

Hey, we need a food forum!

Anyway, here is a little pit stop on my food odyssey.  Do YOU eat enough veggies?  I sure don't!  I think most vegetables are YUKKY.  A holdover from childhood, I'm certain, having been brought up with what seems to be Minnesotan (Scandinavian? Germanic?) attitudes about food (i.e., boil food to mush,  and no flavorings beyond smoke, vinegar, salt and pepper, and ketchup).

But I'm working hard at improving my health, and I know I have to eat my greens.  And give up caffeine, which is another story. Anyway, to work up to my ideal state, besides increasing my salad intake and drinking green tea, I've been popping SPIRULINA (green alge) capsules and drinking CHLOROPHYLL (no, not chloroform ha ha ).

Here is the verdict:  HOLY MOLY!!!!!!   Boy do I feel GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  It's like someone turned the light on.  My eyes are wide open and I'm feeling zippy (like I do after drinking a bottle of V8).  It's like a caffeine buzz without the jittery, anxious (i.e., cortisol) effects of coffee.

Folks, if you want to feel good, eat your greens!  And if you suffer from "heat" condition (a la Chinese Medicine, i.e., high temps, dehydration, flushed skin, bursts of temper), spirulina is a "cooling" herb that balances you out.  So are veggies in general.

later!
