Household EM static - does it make a difference?

I had a thought last night, while wondering why I'd had such a reduction in spontaneous OBEs.
I realized it was generally around the same time my husband moved out, and specifically when I unplugged a bunch of extension cords upstairs where he watched TV, etc. It's even possible the devices were in use at those times. The rooms were next to each other and the extension cords (and a TV cable) ran directly under my mattress. There's nothing but a lamp now.
Has anyone noticed changes depending on the electro-magnetic environment?
The other anomaly which supports this notion was when I was visiting my mother, who lives on a mountain, and I was sleeping in the basement. I had a strong tactile experience in a position that normally is "safe." She mentioned that compasses often read wrong there so I theorized something in the Earth's magnetic field was responsible.
Thoughts?

Boom

Interesting actually... Never thought that EM interference could aid or mess up OBEs.  If it oculd aid in them then lets create some EM interference!.

I've never noticed anything different, but something like that is hard to quantify- however I think I read somewhere that earthquakes seem to facilitate the conditions- so if I were going to guess as to a cause-effect thing, I'd guess that the effect is on the brainstates, because of how emf works in the brain.
I wonder if emf noise causes a 'noise' effect in the brain- like the 'white noise' some of us use to tune into higher frequency states (in theory, I don't know why this works).
Sorry about the rambling nature of my reply, I just had a cookie.

Orion-

When going to sleep I always unplug all devices. I'm very annoyed by devices powered on when I want to relax, if you listen it's even possible to hear the high pitched noise.
Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

To light one candle is more effective than cursing the darkness.

Some people say it is a problem, others don't.

I would imagine that it's just another situation of, "if you don't think about it, it won't bother you".

However, if it does bother you, you can do your best to unplug all electronic devices (which includes taking batteries out of cell phones and laptops and the like).  You can also create barriers with crystals that are said to block EM fields.  In my last apartment I had one wall (the exterior wall) in my room lined with specific crystals to block the EM coming from the hospital across the street. (Quartz, black/rainbow obsidian, selenite, salt lamps, etc.)

Orgone devices are also said to block EM.

A salt lamp that is plugged in and left on all the time can supposedly block EM as well.

Of course, you could always line the walls with tin foil!!  lol.

be awesome.

Actually, if you read the post, I said that the devices were UNplugged around the time my experiences decreased. I'm not letting things get to me" it just occurred to me that the two events coincided and wondered if there was anything in our greater knowledge of electro-magnetics would tend to support the theory.

Hence why I said that the noise generated by them may give a favorable effect for 'hitting the right brainstate'.
Speculative, of course.
