Hey guys my little nephew just told me that he has had nightmarish dreams a few times with a 3 headed demon that has white faces, with no eyes, no mouth. no ears, no eyebrows, no nose. He creeps up on him and torments him too. But sometimes its REALLY scary his face is like  and hes laughing. its so creepy that he does not want to sleep. He holds a machete and gets close to him. But he does not run away because he knows that that's a sign of prey. My nephew thinks that the demon is going to kill my nephew sometime when he is just not prepared for it. Every time he sees the demon he spawns in a place like hell but there's no one but the demon and my nephew there and there's dead bloody people there too. My nephew just feels like  :x :x when he sees the demon. The demon cant talk but he talks through mind to mind.

Now I must add that my nephew has anger problems sometimes, which may be a part of the problem with this. Any thoughts would be great on what I should tell my nephew. I obviously would never want my nephew to have to end up in such a situation at death when his fears and beliefs manifest.

Thoughts?

Who told him demons existed in the first place?  I'd start there...

Well he was raised christian to a some degree. Though I have told him that they exist. But I have also told him that they are thoughtforms created by our own minds.

Well see, this is what I mean when I talk about people spreading Fear... teaching a child that "demons" exist does nothing but bring those demons to life within their consciousness.

Now, it's a matter of changing your nephews perception of what he's experiencing.  Having anger issues, meaning he's already turned his attention towards Fear-based reactions also doesn't help the matter.  I'd start with getting him to learn to meditate... and go from there.

Might I add that nightmares are a normal thing for a child? I remember I had nightmares at least 3 times every week from 5 years old to 8-9 years old...
It's a normal thing, eventually he'll beat his own demons just like everybody does!

But yeah saying that demons exist doesn't help. Horror movies either, or scaring him by telling him ghost stories etc won't help.

I think it's just a phase, I still remember some of my nightmares I had when I was around 7 years old and all I can say it's that it goes away with time.

I think even if you don't tell a children about demons and ghosts, he'll still have nightmares because life is a test and Nightmares are a part of those tests...
Even if he has nightmares every night, it cannot do anything to him except make him tired, eventually he'll sleep even through nightmares cause he'll need to rest. Don't worry about it.
The partial becomes complete; the crooked, straight; the empty,
full; the worn out, new. He whose (desires) are few gets them; he
whose (desires) are many goes astray.

"Though I have told him that they exist. But I have also told him that they are thoughtforms created by our own minds."

How can he conceive of such a complex concept?

The moment you enforced the idea that they are real, the seed was planted (As Xanth explained)... everything else is jibberish to a 7 year olds mind

You could start by sharing(make it up, make it fun etc) a story to him how there was a young boy who was experiencing the same situation and that he was able to beat
the demon by punching him in the face

Create that confidence for him, it will do him wonders.
