im assuming everyone in this forum would agree that the life experience is to learn more about the universe and..life. but do you think there is an end to the learning? the goal we're trying to reach...what is it and how long does it take to get there? is there even a goal or are we just learning to learn? i guess being new to OBEs has made me question meaning and intent in my life- just curious as to what others think. i like learning and experiencing things but sometimes id like to just get to the goal and rest. is there a common goal for everyone/every living thing? i know these are mostly questions that i can only answer for myself but just curious! whats your perspective?

I actually think that the point of life really has nothing to do with "this physical reality".  It's about growing spiritually through the various interactions we have here with other consciousness.

Is there an end to it?  Never.
I've said it before... the goal for our consciousness is a path consisting of an ever-changing destination.

I look at it in many different ways. One way is that we're remembering what we've forgotten. The remembering process continues until you're one with god again. Then theres nothing left to do but forget it all again.

Infinity and Eternity are really difficult concepts to "fully realise".. even numbers like 15 billions years (approx age of known, physical universe) are hard to really and honestly fathom.. then we try to think about eternity/infinity.. and it's just too much for us in this form. 15 billion years might seem like an eternity to us.. but by definition alone, any unit of time is never going to be big enough to measure eternity/infinity.. it's unmeasurable! :D

We are each immortal and, as already mentioned, this puts us into the realm of infinity or forever. I have seen it suggested, though, that some highly advanced beings can opt to return to the Godhead and thus lose their individuality.

Sounds similar to Frank's model Focus 4. He suggests that you don't lose your individuality but you do share yourself with all other consciousness. In Frank's opinion that's the end game, (although there is no end or beginning!!)

I'll try to remember where I read it. I know that it wasn't whilst reading anything pertaining to OBE, though. It might have been in the Syliva Browne book "Life on the Other Side".
