Hi Patty,

I know the feeling all to well. Not long ago I was in a real low myself due to many time consuming issues as well as emotional baggage that most likely will never see an end.But as of recently that deppresing fog has lifted and my spirits are up and motivated.

Though I have nothing to say that will help your spirits immeditly ill just remind you that in time all things will pass.Soon happiness will be back on your side . http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0>

Patty, believe me I can sympathize.  Little kids can just zap your energy sometimes.

My baby is fixing to be 20 and still at home.  I still wash 3 loads of laundry a day and clean constantly.  It has been the story of my life.  The difference between now and when he was a baby is the cooking.

My husbands manages two bars and a restaurant in a mountain resort area.  My son also works with his dad.  They eat most of their meals at work.  I have mega time on my hands.  By most standards we are considered lucky women who have men who want us to be their housewives..  But the reality is that most housewives are lonely women who lack adult conversations from their husbands and other adults.  They live in a world of baby chatter ... I can tell by reading your posts that you are intelligent.  That my friend makes it worse sometimes.  Check this site out..  I have taken a few courses there.

http://home.universalclass.com/  [the homepage]
http://home.universalclass.com/courses/1.htm?  [has course index on left side panel]

They also have a course request portion that you will see that you can use if you can't find something specifically that you want.  there are several astral classes but I don't remember what topic they specifically fall under..  They will answer you.  I, myself, am considering taking the coding classes so I can work at home.  I corresponded with the instructor Annette Derk [look her up and read about her].  She has been a coder/administrator for years and lives in Florida.

To alievate my boredom, I also got involved in cisco classes and spent tons of money getting certified and taking online classes.  I build computers or I can build computers.  I am ccna, partial ccnp and A+ certified.....but my biggest job is being a housewife.  Taking care of the people I love.  No immediate rewards, but later on, they will come.  ....  All of these things were done to alievate boredom.  I don't work.  I am stil a housewife...just an educated one..  Self educated..  You can do it to.  I started doing computer stuff several years ago and love it, but I will never work at it.  My husbands job is where we live and it has a population of 3200..  There are no computer jobs, so I work at home broading my intellectual horizons via the internet...

And it will get better.  Believe it!!  Baby hood passes much too quickly.  I know it doesn't help to say it now, but it will one day.

Now...a joke...... from::::::::

There were three guys talking in the pub. Two of them are talking
about the amount of control they have over their wives, while the
third guy remained quiet.

After a while one of the first two turns to the third and says, 'Well,
what about you? What sort of control do you have over your wife?'

The third fellow says, 'I'll tell you. Just the other night my wife
came to me on her hands and knees.'

The first two guys were amazed. 'What happened then?' they asked.
She said, "GET OUT FROM UNDER THE BED AND FIGHT LIKE A MAN!".

A man walks into a store to buy a Barbie doll for his daughter. "How much is that Barbie in the window?", he asks the shop assistant.

In a manner she responds, "Which Barbie? We have Barbie Goes to the Gym for $19.95, Barbie Goes to the Ball for $19.95, Barbie Goes Shopping for $19.95, Barbie Goes to the Beach for $19.95, Barbie Goes Nightclubbing for $19.95, and Divorced Barbie for $395.00. "

The guy asks, "Why is Divorced Barbie different from all the others ?

"That's obvious," the assistant states, "Divorced Barbie comes with Ken's house, Ken's car, Ken's boat, Ken's furniture... "

An elderly man in Phoenix calls his son in New York and says, "I hate to ruin your day, but I have to tell you that your mother and I are divorcing, forty-five years of misery is enough."

"Pop, what are you talking about?" the son screams.

"We can't stand the sight of each other any longer," the old man says.
"We're sick of each other, and I'm sick of talking about this, so you call your sister in Chicago and tell her," and he hangs up.

Frantic, the son calls his sister, who explodes on the phone. "Like heck they're getting divorced," she shouts, "I'll take care of this." She calls Phoenix immediately, and screams at the old man, "You are NOT getting divorced. Don't do a single thing until I get there. I'm calling my brother back, and we'll both be there tomorrow. Until then, don't do a thing, DO YOU HEAR ME?" and hangs up.

The old man hangs up his phone and turns to his wife. "Okay," he says, "They're coming for Thanksgiving and paying their own fares Now what do we tell them for Christmas?

It will get better Patty... Hang in there..

G'Day/Night there Patty. Just thought that I'd put in my 5 cents in for you as well. I agree with what Andy said, that the down and depressing fog will lift off of you over time. I'm sure many of us out there feel this way many times over the course of our life and I know that I certainly have too! And geez, that sure is a long work shift you have there too! Maybe you might have a normal case of 'work burnout' or something! Couldn't you and your husband posssibly arrange something with your or his parents where you and he could take a week vacation together and have them watch your kids? Just a suggestion! Everyone, no matter who you are needs to have a vacation, or you'll eventually get that darn 'work burnout'!

Well, the only funny joke that I know of that I could tell you right off of the top of my head now is was that whenever I was starting out work at my first job, I asked to speak to someone within a specific department and the secretary said that I'd need to talk to Tom Cruise. I was behaved in awe and said, "Tom Cruise works here?" She said no, it's not him, and his last name is spelled differently. That was so funny to me! I still can't get over that one! I never heard of a person before who had a famous person's first and last name, even though it was spelled another way. ~

Well, I hope this may have helped you feel a bit better. Things will look up for you. If you feel really down, ask for your higher guide or your guardian angel. One of them may help lift your spirit up for you. Believe me, I know... (*smile*) ~

G'day/night to you again Patty. One last thing that I'd like to mention that might help you is by listening to music. Whenever one's in a down mood, don't listen to hard rock, heavy or death metal because this might further enhance one's down mood that much more. Try listening to something upbeat and happy or even spiritual and instrumental such as Pure Moods III. There are a lot of beautiful and great songs on that CD and I really love it a lot! The group called, Tangerine Dreams also has some really beautiful music that is mostly spiritual and instrumental.

Hope this might help give you more ideas on how you could be lifted out of your sad mood. Also, you may want to sit down sometime and try drinking some warm green tea (or any other tea of your choice) or eating some Dove milk chocolate bars. Chocolate normally seems to make me happier whenever I'm down sometimes. (*warm smile*) ~

Thanks for the endorsement, Andy!  I'm glad I could provide free (and often original) humor to so many people.

Patty, I'm sorry to hear about you being down.  I know how draining having kids could be.  Here is a little something that I think you will enjoy.  It's from a book I wrote called "Demented Thoughts" which I still have to get published somehow:

Never Give Up

You know the old saying, "Don't ever give up?" Well, boy, is that a good saying to remember. I remember one time, my daddy told me that I should always follow through with whatever I did, never leave a job half finished.

So one day, I decided to surprise him by playing mechanic on his brand new car. He was always so proud of this car, like it was a part of the family. `What better way to show my love for my father than by doing something good to his car' I thought.

At first I was only going to reprogram his radio settings to all the cool stations (since all daddy listened to was boring music). But once I finished replacing his stereo settings, I began to notice many other things wrong with his car.

For example.....his brand new paint job was way too bright. That would surely attract the attention of every highway patrol officer in the county. I had to take care of that, and I had to do it fast. With no other option, I took a black can of spray paint and began to work my magic. I was only able to repaint the passenger side door before the spray paint was all used up. `Crap' I thought. `Nothing I can do about that now.'

Then, I noticed that his tires were filled up with way too much air. Heaven knows what would have happened if I didn't take care of that problem. Not wanting to let too much air out of his tires, but not knowing how to do it, I decided to put on my thinking cap. Then an idea occurred to me that would have made Einstein marvel at the sheer brilliance. I decided to take a small razor blade and make tiny little incisions on the surface of his tires. Yes, I know what your thinking: `That won't do anything.' But I assure you, after a couple hours, those tires were flatter than a pancake.

I was just about finished, but something *still* didn't appear right. Then it dawned on me......what better way to make daddy happy then by making his car go faster? It was almost time for him to go on his afternoon drive, so I had to think quickly. Being the smart kid that I am, I knew that the heavier an object was, the more energy it would take for it to move. So therefore, if I made his car lighter, it would go faster. Gosh, sometimes I shock myself with my superior intellect.

With no time to spare, I opened my daddy's hood, and you will never believe what I saw. Wires. Nothing but lots and lots of wires. No wonder daddy always drove that precious car very slowly. He used to tell me that he drove slow so that his car wouldn't get scratched, but now I know that this was just an excuse. He just didn't want to tell me that his car was too heavy to go any faster. So you can imagine what I did next. That's right. I began to yank out every wire I could see. Some were tougher to get out, so I had to cut them, but thank goodness, after 10 minutes, there wasn't a single wire left in that engine.

And you know what the best part was? The best part was watching my father's reaction as he walked into the garage. First, his face turned white, almost as if every drop of blood quickly left his body. Then his mouth fell open like a sack of bricks. Right before he fainted, all he kept saying as he lost consciousness was, "You......you......you......"

That's right dad. It's your son, and you don't need to thank me. Honestly, it was my pleasure.

But after seeing his limp, unconscious body laying on the floor of my garage, I started to think that playing mechanic wasn't such a good idea. I walked over to him, looked at his motionless body, and suddenly realized: Oh goody, now I get to play surgical doctor! Now where did I leave my razor blade scalpel?

I have been feeling down lately as well. But I have been trying to work through it. The thing that usually works is that I try to remember that I am a spiritual being who just happens to be having a physical experience at the moment. Though it seems like this life is all that there is, and that now is all that there is going to be, this is not true. This is only a very small fraction of the experiences I will have during the coarse of my existance, which as far as I know will be an eternity. I try to think that, reguardless of this is true or not, I choose to come here and experience these things, sort of like I have entered this big virtual reality game just for the experience. Once it is over there will be other things to do and experience in other better places. If you think about existing forever then the current situation does not seem so bad as it is going to be over soon. What is a few years compared to eternity??

How supportive is your husband? Does he help out at all when he gets home? Have you talked to him about this? Trying to spend time together in the evenings might help. Having him watch the children while you have some alone time might help as well. Just remember your situation could always be worse. You could be in some poor country having to watch your child starving to death. Not a pleasant thought, but it is going on right now. Think about how lucky you are to be able to be with your child and have all that you do. It is easy to get depressed when we think about what we don't have. But turning your attention to what you do have usually cheers you up, it works for me anyway.

Jeff, all I can say is http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile_shock.gif" border=0> LOL

Alice had got so much into the way of expecting nothing but out-of-the-way things to happen, that it seemed quite dull and stupid for life to go on in the common way.

Patty

Hi.

Just want someone to talk to. I can't put my fingere opn why I feel so low. But I do. I guess I'm really burned out on life - I am a 'homemaker' and that means nonstop meals, cleaning, consoling other people, running errands, and it is constant. From 7 in the morning til 8 at night, every day.

I' ve been doing this for over five years, and have another 3 years before the baby is in school. We don't have family around to take the kids, and we aren't comfortable with baby sitters. We get away now and then when friends can watch the kids.

Anyone know any good jokes or anything? Or do you have a pick-me-up story? maybe a good OBE or NDE verification that you have heard lately?
