I just woke up, around 20 minutes ago from my first successful journey into focus 10. (Mind awake/ body asleep) I'm sure it may seem silly to be excited about this, but previously when thinking about F10, I thought it was a boring place to jump to another focus. I've found that this is false, much to my joyous amusement.

Just to recount how it went: I started off by covering my eyes because they were feeling fluttery. I then relaxed my body and waited as all the twitches and itches came and went, and slowly but surely, they passed and I stopped realizing my body, for lack of a better word. It was kind of a sudden burst and suddenly the blackness around me took on a different shape and it seemed as if my head had actually gained weight. ( Not my physical head and perhaps mass would be a more appropriate word than weight) I was only very vaguely aware of my body by this point, and would only occasionally become aware of my breathing, but when this happened it dulled the patterns I was seeing in the darkness. My thoughts kept taking on vivid dream-like qualities but they seemed very far away and not at all as though I could jump into them. I tried to project both to the street outside of my house and to an unspecified destination, both unsuccessful, but when I tried, my experience got slightly more intense in a way that's just too hard to describe right now.

I'm sorry for the long post and I would like to thank Xanth for pointing me to all the great resources.

Hello and Welcome to the Astral Pulse Bordmb. Congratulations on first successful step. Take every success as a personal achievement. Keep records of your events so you may look back at them periodically to see what is working and what isn't. Always push yourself to go farther/deeper. It's scary at first, but that is the first thing you really have to conquer and that's your fear. Hold on to your seats, there is a wild ride ahead!
Good Luck and Safe Travels!  :-)

We are spirit, expressing what we will.
We act out perSONAs on our stage of iMAGEination.
We are both the dreamer & the dream.
I think therefore I am.
I am consciousness & potentiality

Good job Bordmb!
As Lionheart said, just keep pushing forward!  :)

The more you turn off and ignore the physical, the more the non-physical will come alive.

Hi,
You've done the best part already. There's not much more to do to find the exit. Keep up the hard work and you'll succeed. Total disconnection from the physical is the target and you've done the body parts, now go a little more and do the physical head part. Keep calm and very still this will help.
Best of success, see you outside....
There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.

I actually just had another small success. I decided to try some mid afternoon meditation and decided I would try a binaural beat. I have no idea how long I was laying there but it was took considerably less time to enter focus 10 this time, but I wasn't using the noticing technique that I usually use and I let my mind drift freely to see what would happen. The tone took on many different forms, but I lost myself completely and all I remember was hearing a popping sound kind of like water boiling or if anyone has played Minecraft it was like the lava sound on there. Unfortunately, I have no idea where I was leading up to this but when the noise occurred, I instantly snapped back to typical consciousness.

I've heard noises before while meditating, but this one was very vivid and I wish I could've passively observed it rather than reacting so drastically. When this happens should I get up or try to slowly fall back into that place? I got a vague feeling of being pulled upward back into consciousness when the noise happened. Not sure whether that is significant or not. Wow, I was told by my brother that it's only been ten minutes. It feels like I was out of it for hours.
