Title: Uncovering supressed memories
Post by: AJDIN on March 13, 2012, 05:11:24
This has been on my mind lately after discussing mushrooms in test conditions from the forum, and reading a story about a guy who had remembered back too his early days as a kid - and i was thinking of taking that approach

I was born and raised during the Bosnian war and i left the country when i was about 4 - I have no memory of my time there at all and i would think something devastating as a war would be imprinted on my mind today and all the suppressed emotions would be healthy too sort out and let out, i also lost my mother during that time and i don't have any memory of her and would like too know those moments that she was in my life

Does anyone have any techniques so i can uncover these suppressed memories/emotions in my life?

Only thing im worried about with the mushrooms(and would obviously stir a negative reply from most of you) is that if i uncover something horrible that it would send me on a bad trip...

But i also believe and know if i was too do this that it would benefit very much

I am a really happy guy 95% of the time, and i do really care for people around me and i do my best too make people happy, i'm very empathetic in that sense... but i do sometimes spiral down in too a depression kind of state in that 5% ... Maybe im not remembering these things for a reason?

Please let me know what your honest thinking is

Hi,
Personally I wouldn't stir a wasps nest.
The times were bad and forgotten, thats the best thing you could have. A traumatic memory will persist and may cause more depression.
If its not broken dont fix it.

For myself, it's like pulling a thread. I go back to some of my earliest memories (during meditation) and try to remember every detail I can. I try to see it from new angles and perspectives, and things that I forgot start to jump out at me... it's often very surprising, especially old smells. As I uncover more forgotten stuff, things begin to link back to even earlier memories and feelings. And the more I've done this, the more things start to come up on their own at random times without me doing anything.

Yes, Stookie, it works like that most of the time for me too.

Ajdin, Meditate.

I think this is a *very* good goal you have chosen.

I do not recommend Scientology at all but in this particular case I also suggest "Self Analysis" (by L R Hubbard)

Get the book.

Do the exercises...

... every day until you finish the whole thing. It could easily take months.
repeat as necessary

Good Luck and Bon Voyage

Well, I know I had some wild memories surface, and even remembered some things about my birth.

It seems like it takes something to trigger the memory.
At least I know that I'm adopted, was born a satyr, and lost a lot before I came to this village.  I lived a whole life in those five years, and it wasn't happy.
The night that I remembered my mother, a certain satyr woman who worked a circus, I wept and wailed so hard that the wolves sent their breathe across the land and formed thousands of snowballs in the fields.  Come to think of it, it happened around this time of year, it might even have been two weeks ago so many years ago.

It felt good to remember that I have a heritage, whether it be demon spawn or what not.  I wonder if I have some inheritance with the circus that I'll never see?  I've tried doing searches online, and some things come up, but it's out of the time frame.  Past lives?  I don't know.

I think if you want to remember something, you will, at your own pace.  There does seem for a trigger association to set it off, but once you get that, you can access all of your memories.
One thing about it, when you rememeber something in full detail, you can almost warp the time stream.  You reanimate that moment in time, and it resonantes all through the time stream to the point that you are remembering it.  It should surface naturally, and pending whatever happened, expect a lot of intense emotions.

I do not advise using mushrooms, mushrooms can have violent effects on the psyche.  Not for this task anyway, for other things, yes.
