Greetings everyone,

Well I sat through all 3 1/2 hours of this and it was more of the same. Almost the whole thing was geared towards disproving the existence of the higher spheres rather than trying to prove it.

The main guest was James Randi the leader of the sceptics. The did have some excellent psychics on, but they didn't stand much chance.

The last program was a farce! The top ten ways of "contacting the dead". Each one was debunked by a sceptic academic who would never be convinced, and would explain everything away im material terms. They chose ten examples which were the most ludicrous examples I have ever seen, almost theatrical and designed to make a farce of the whole thing.

I guess this is the sort of thing we are still up against, even in this day and age.

For those in the UK, there are three items on psychics and contacting the "dead" to be broadcast from 20:00 Saturday on Channel 4.

Here are the details:

20:00 Living with the Dead

Documentary investigating the extraordinary rise in the number of people who visit psychics or are interested in psychic phenomena - a trend whose highlight was the recent live broadcast by an American pay-per-view channel in which the participants attempted to make contact with the late Princess Diana. The programme contrasts the cliche of the pier-end psychic with the modern, mainstream professionals who run successful businesses and make a healthy living out of contacting the dead.  

21:00 Ultimate Psychic Challenge

A special live programme - showing as part of Psychic Night - that attempts to prove or disprove the idea that it`s possible to communicate with the dead. Respected psychic Keith Charles and James Randi, a sceptic who travels the States exposing evangelists and psychics whom he believes are frauds, each attempts to counter the other`s arguments, and the studio audience will vote on what they belive to be the truth at the end of the show. Presented by Kate Garraway.

22:30 Top 10 Ways to Contact the Dead

Shown as part of Psychic Night, this documentary provides advice to those keen to contact their dead friends and relatives. The programme investigates a variety of methods that have been used to contact the spirit world, including seances, Ouija boards, white magic, past life regression, trance, transfiguration and even afterlife telegrams whereby a terminally ill patient is asked to act as an afterlife courier by memorising a message which, in theory, they will be able to deliver in the spirit world.
