Title: a new concentration/awareness/visualization tech
Post by: kerberos on February 08, 2005, 08:06:19
Hello, I am very happy to find this place. It looks like ppl from all over the world are trying to find out about the astral and know truth them selfs instead of believeing other ppls' theories.

I tried the ROPE tech but it didnt help me much. I have been practising for about 4 months everyday. I had 5 obes in that period. The last one was 2 weeks ago and lasted for about 25 minutes.

I wanted to mention the tech that got me where I am so others can test and verify results. It helped me a lot.

First of all I tried to be aware through the day, take awareness walks and tried to keep my mind clear from thoughts and focused on the thing I was doing.

I then noticed an exercise that increased my awareness very fast, in just a few days and made my dreams lucid very soon.

I lay on my bed relaxing for a while, loosing all tension. Then I choose a spot on the celling  (it could be anything not moving) and stair at it while relaxed. As I stair I try to observe the details on the rest of the room not really paying so much attention to the spot I am focused in.  After a while I get a feeling of being like a driver in a car, traped in my head observing the whole room,  and my head is clear from thoughts because I am focused on noticing the details on the whole room. I try to just be there, look at the room as a whole and feel my self laying in the centre thinking of nothing. I do this for 15 to 20 minutes each day usually at the afternoon and another 10 minutes after relaxation and before going to sleep.

Now When I try to AP I just close my eyes after that exercise and try to keep the concentration and awareness feeling with my eyes closed, untill I fall asleep. Knowing the awareness feeling and geting used to being concentrated without moving my eyes helped me a lot to sleep. Before doing that I was usually moving my eyes while my eyelids where closed and that tension made me unable to physically sleep.

Just a few days of this practise and I started having conciousness in my dreams. Lately I just felt my self falling and I tried to get up and I found my self spliting with a feeling of diziness. My head felt like being dragged by my physical body down while I was trying very hard to get up. I finally made it out in my room.

I wanted to explore the neighborhood but as I realised its not that easy to stay in the physical plane. Just one attempt to pass my room wall and I found my self on another strange living room of another house. From there I kept going to uknown places and was unable to find out where I am or how to get back. Details where not that clear. I decided to wake up cause I felt lost.

I want to know how can I stay on the physical plane and see real places and not being dragged in uknown parts of the astral or my own mind creations.

Thank you, good to be here, I guess I have a lot to learn.
I keep geting the same feeling, whenever i wake up in a dream,
everything just clears and I am in my room laying in bed so I get up
feeling some of the "spliting" sensations.

Do you think I am dreaming in bed? I mean is there a chance I always dream with my astral body where my physical is?

Yesterday I made it out again and was asking to see my guide, but nothing happened. I just floated for a few minutes then I woke up although I didnt decide to. Does the physical body attract the astral one while close?

How can I stay on the physical plane longer?
Thx again. The tech seems to work wonders.
It also helped me a lot concentrating on each part of my body and dragging energy with imaginary hands from bottom upwards.

I think relaxation and not being too tired are the MOST important parts to have an obe.
