So I've been projecting for a while now, or lucid dreaming, not sure which, maybe I'm switching between two. It feels like I'm getting out of body at first but then it feels more like a lucid dream.

But anyways. I lose my awareness rather quickly. I would start focusing, got all those vibrations, sounds and what not, get out of body (or start hallucinating/lucid dreaming , whichever it is) and it would last for a while but then I slowly lose my consciousness and can not control what I do in my dream/projection anymore. I forget that this is not physical reality. I stop being lucid.

I try to remind myself "this is dream , this is not real" again and again and it seems to extend amount of time I can stay conscious. But I was thinking, maybe some of you who have been ding this for longer have any tips on how to maintain being lucid for longer?

Give this article I wrote a read:  http://www.unlimitedboundaries.ca/2012/07/22/how-to-stabilize-and-strengthen-your-projection-experiences/
Thanks, I will try this out, see how it goes and if it works. All though it seems that you are talking more about waking up, don't you? At least that's the impression I got by reading that. I don't really have a problem with waking up, just staying lucid.

So what are some more of those many techniques you are aware of and use?

Nope.  The article is about remaining within an experience.  It's about using your senses and your Intent in order to STAY in the non-physical and to keep your lucid/astral awareness.
The only part I mention "waking up" is that you can use these techniques in order stop yourself from waking up too.

All techniques revolve around bringing your awareness more INTO the experience.  *ALL* of them.  Every single one of them.  It's all about focus and Intent.
