Post by: uhhuh on May 17, 2007, 17:36:16
Can anything bad happen from fighting in the astral? Also can you "imagine" weapons or w/e and you get it? just wondering.

Yes, you can lose  :-)

It's  possible to create/find weapons, but you don't need them

You can do all that, just set your mind to it. Nothing happens if you lose, besides waking up feeling messed up.

Loosing fights in dreams or getting injured in dreams already sucks bigtime.... I dont even want to know how its in the Astral.

But then again I might be able to throw fireballs  :-D

So far for me, losing a fight has been nothing more then a bit of mental feed back and maybe a sore body part for a while.

Forming weapons out of thought is easy, as long as you can make it correctly and don't continue to think about it.  If you do, then you might reshape it without knowing.

Anyway, have fun.  Don't fight anyone you will regret because they might decide to make your life misurable.

Excuse me for being bland, but why would you want to fight in the first place?

I've had conversations with people who describe fights with insanely horrid demons, and other astral travellers and Satan itself. When I ask them if they ever lost, they said no. I ask them if at any point they were even in a position where they felt like they couldn't continue, they said no. They didn't want to lose, so they didn't.

I personally believe that the 'astral' forms and even the ability to see/hear/touch is all percieved reality, no different than a dream. These forms you take and the swords you hold aren't real, so you wouldn't be able to be hurt, or even inflict pain. However if it entertains you, then you can literally do anything, weild anything, fight anything, and only lose if you wish to lose.

In that case my advice is enjoy yourself, make it entertaining. You have no limits.

When I lost I wasn't wishing to lose, someone got my neck and choked me to death, then I woke up. Interesting though, once I had this experience and when I woke up I was with my hand on my neck choking myself. I may be wrong, but those that say that never lost were lying, they wouldn't have developed any skills without losing or having difficulties.

I felt pain when my ear got sliced by a ninja star which was aimed for my head.

The thing is most of the time there is no pain or so, but everyonce in a while it becomes more real. I remember touching my ear and having blood on my hand in the dream.

You obviously have the belief you can lose, or at least be overpowered. It's understandable that such a position could be making you susceptible to failure?

I come from a viewpoint that beyond the physical there is no boundaries beyond our own inability to believe. Even as far to see that the form we create is an illusion and cannot be hurt/overpowered. So for others it may be a different reality, but for me they create their own rules.

Yup, depends on the level of awareness, it was a semi-lucid dream, I knew I could defeat them even though they were visually much stronger than me, but the one who killed me was the weakest of them. I didn't even think he was a fighter. I had defeated the big ones, and this dude came, he looked like a damn rubber band, lol kinda like Dhalsim, I didn't consider that I could have been killed by that thing.

These unexpected strangeness confuse me, if I see a ninja I'm ready for it, but if I see a dancing pencil I'm totally thrown off guard.

The point I tried to make is that it's not always easy to have/keep a high awareness of the endless possibilities available, eventually the circumstances will subdue you, and this I believe is one of the reasons why we dream, to learn to solve these problems that are presented to us in form of images.
