Did I just phase?

A few nights ago I lied down in my bed to go to sleep.  It generally takes me between 20-30 minutes to fall asleep.  I'm not sure what happened this time but within a few minutes I was somewhere else.  There were 2 women standing there smiling at me and they said 'You did this!'.  I than awoke thinking I would sure like to do this more often!  Was I able to phase that quickly into the Astral???    :-D

You shifted your focus into a Non-Physical environment, so yes I think it qualifies as a form of phasing. Some might quibble with the fact that you lost awareness for a short time and came aware within a lucid dream, but in my interpretation it is all pretty much the same thing and there are many ways to get "there".

Now just where "there" is, you will have to work out and define for yourself.

But in the meantime, congratulations! And yes it can happen that simply and easily...sometimes. Now you need to reflect on what occurred for you to have made that transition: Did you have a specific Intent when you lay down? Maybe you weren't even thinking about an attempt but your prior efforts may have led to what we could call the Intent-Pressure building and finally delivering an experience when you least expected it. It can work that way at times. Another possibility is that as you relaxed into sleep, you got the benefit of riding a hypnogogic visualization that helped you manage the shift even though you were barely cognizant of it. Just a couple ideas.

Thanks EscapeVelocity,

I listen to various things when I go to sleep.  I cycle thru various audio programs thru my headphones.  I listen to some Solfeggio audio clips and was currently listening to Chapter 16 of 'How to Have an Out of Body Experience' by William Buhlman.  This chapter is about 1/2 hour of affirmations.  I listen to these specific audio clips for 3 weeks straight and than move to another audio program.  I eventually cycle thru them and repeat.  My first OBE occurred at the end of a 3 week cycle of these affirmations.

This particular experience happened very quickly and ended just as quickly.  Whether it was phasing or as you mentioned about riding a hypnogogic visualization i'm not sure but I guess it really doesn't matter how I got 'There'!  All that matters is that I got 'There' and what can I learn from that is the big question!

You are welcome T-Man!

So it looks like those audio clips and affirmations paid off for you. Awesome! Even if it was a relatively short experience, that doesn't detract from the monumental feeling you walk away with: You set an Intent with affirmations and you got a NP experience and an undeniable confirmation! Whether or not the two ladies were actual entities or aspects offered up by your subconscious/higher self isn't really important at this moment; this was a direct message to the value of your efforts.

I was just signing on to post this additional suggestion but seeing your reply reinforces my thought. It might prove very helpful to take a minute for the next few nights and mentally state an affirmation of thanks and gratitude and a request for more experiences such as this one. The exact wording is not too important, rather it is the sincere feelings you want to express; make the effort and just know that the message is heard and understood.

In the coming days and weeks you can put forth specific requests in the form of an Intent/affirmation, but don't be disappointed if you get something different in the way of an experience...you may get offered tests and simulations instead (it seems to be different for everyone and wonderfully varied, lol). You get to a point where you realize that the most practical Intent is to simply ask for the next best lesson for your own progress. In other words, "Show me what I need to learn next".

Nicely done!

Thank you for the reminder of saying 'Thanks for the experience'.  I will certainly do that.  This has reminded me of another experience that I had a few months ago.  I find myself struggling to become Lucid while dreaming.  I see so many unbelievable dream triggers whereby I should question whether this is real or not but I seem to believe everything happening in my dreams.  I have had a couple very profound Lucid dreams since than but I would like to experience more.  Anyways, back to your point about saying thanks and asking for experiences...Because I have been struggling to become Lucid, I asked my Higher Self one night before bed to come and literally slap me in the face to wake me up in my dreams if that is what it will take.  Nothing happened on the first night but it happened on the second night.  I was in a dream that seemed to be some sort of challenge.  After what felt like I passed this challenge I was lying down on a sofa that was in a hallway.  I was talking to a friend sitting on a sofa across from me.  A cow walked by and stopped in front of my face and lifted his tail!   ....I physically jumped and flung my arms so bad that I was wide awake in the physical.  I could not stop laughing!  I have never jumped out of bed like that in my entire life.  Even when watching a scary movie in the theatres and the whole audience jumps at a scary moment, I don't even blink.  Anyways, I did thank myself a lot after that experience and I still laugh about it every time I think about it!

Your immersion in this is paying off. Brain entrainment is a great way to find success. Many people have reported NP experiences occurring simply after just reading a book on "non local states of consciousness", hearing an interview, speaker, or listening to a youtube video on the subject. That's usually all it takes to get the "curiosity fluids" flowing.  Mind you they are very brief. But that "sneak peek" is all it takes to "hook'" you in.

I have experienced this myself.  This was the first time I read anything on the subject of phasing.  One evening I was reading from the following website which I probably found somewhere on the Astral Pulse:

http://focus-4.es.tl/WELCOME.htm

I spent a couple of hours reading the section on phasing.  That night I went to bed and I had a dream that I was phasing.  I saw the movie screen like image which really did look like a theatre screen where you see the number countdown at the beginning.  The screen than turned into the 3D black void which in my dream was one of those 3D computer generated images that looks like static on a TV screen.  After seeing these two images I realized that I was dreaming and turned this into my Second Lucid Dream.  I created a portal on the wall that I crawled thru and had my second great adventure!

That's Frank Kepple's work. That had the same effect on a number of people here. I still go back and read it today. There are so many tidbits that get more meaning once you are familiar with this practice.
