Swallowing affects meditation?

When I meditate/attempt to, I find myself having to swallow, ALOT! I find myself ignoring it, but does this have any affect on if I'm separating from my physical body or not?

To me, it doesn't really affect it. I just got through having an OBE and before doing it, I kept swallowing but I continued to feel numbness throughout my body anyway. I even moved my leg and head, opened my eyes. I rolled over and ended up laying on my side and projected from there. I've read some people say you can't project from laying on your side. I do it half the time that way. I don't know if I'm different, but I doubt it.
If you see someone in the astral riding around in a red bumper car, it's probably me.

You moved and projected shortly after? I didn't know that was possible. I was told to be as still as you can for a long as possible and you will start to feel it.

Maybe it's different for other people, but that's what happened today. I think it's because I can easily get into the state of mind required to OBE that I don't need to sit still the entire time. It would be impossible for me to just lay there and not itch my nose or something. I do know that if I open my physical eyes, I can't OBE.

Swallow, itch your itch, sneeze, do whatever you have to do and then get back to your focus.

It only bothers you, if you let it!

All of these show that your focus is still directed too much on your physical body.

It's like some kind of built in reality check. Let's say, your bodies/consciousness last defense to hold itself here.

Once again, it gets better with practice!  :-)

Swallowing will affect you if you believe it will. If you believe you can't project from your side, then you can't.

That old quote is so true, and I forget who said it...maybe Ford? "Whether you believe you can or can't, you're probably right."
