Title: Vibrations
Post by: CFTraveler on December 23, 2005, 12:17:17
I have what I think may be a problem- I have been projecting spontaneously for years, (all my life) and recently learned how to induce it using MAP, and reading the forums.  I have discovered that (for myself) the only way I can project is when I feel the vibrations.  Doing NEW seems to have helped because I've had 3 projections in 2 months, which is more than I ever have done spontaneously, but now, I would like to induce vibrations on purpose, but can't seem to.  Sure, I've gotten out, but it's because the vibrations came- Now I'm deliberately trying to "get them" but nothing I've tried (energy work, chakra work, even Ohming, will bring them.)  Am I being impatient? Is there anything specific that has worked for others?  Any suggestions will be welcome.

Thanks, CF.

Hi CF,

Vibrations are quite difficult to induce. As you probably already know, you don't need them to project. In fact, your body try to avoid them because the vibrational state is pretty similar to having an epileptic seizure during sleep. It is not a balanced state at all, but as part of your OBE progress it is natural at the beginning. Almost every people start their OBE career by experiencing the vibrational state spontaneously later on the night after making some effort to project.

I think you should redefine your goals and start observing the sleep process, looking for personal clues.

You know what it is? You believe that's the only way you can project. You are convinced that the vibrations are your gateway. Even if you find this to be more true than belief, it started when you started.

Obviously you are a method kind of person. One step before the other. The case is that you believe in a transition period. Vibrations are one of the most popular transition feelings. When you experience it, you know you are making the transition. If you don't, you feel there is something missing, and you wait for something. That is your error.

The transition can happen in a moment, literally. One moment you're sitting in your room eating a sandwich and the next you're floating in a darkness. Simple as that.

What I suggest for you is throw methods out the window for a while. In your walking life imagine all the time that you're slipping in to it suddenly, blacking out in to nothingness. Pretend you walk through a door in to a black abyss, or when you turn off the lights you dissapear. Use the same idea when you go to meditate. As your body falls to the couch or the bed pretend you're falling in to the darkness.

I wouldn't be surprised if you find yourself being able to instantly change after enough practice. Of course you have to believe me, otherwise you might as well give up completely.

Thanks guys.  The funny thing is, I projected this morning and no vibrations.
I guess I needed to hear that.

I'm going to do that when I meditate- it sounds enticing.
