ew no. i hate being noticed. consciously, that is. i hate being noticed consciously, im always trying to get people to focus on something other than me. however, i notice that i do a lot of things subconsciously that draw attention to myself. i think its cause i dont get enough attention or something. i dont think anybody really likes me for everything that i am, and even fewer know everything i really am. but all that aside, the desire to learn these abilities comes from no conscious source. ive always been interested in metaphysics since i was 5 and christian. its just how i am.

I think we all find it enjoyable, and I mean, who can resisit the temptation to go and do something just for the fun of it like fly around for  bit. I think if we keep the spiritual exploration and the screwing around in moderation, we can strike a healthy balance with each.

  Anyone have any input as to what is a productive experience in the astral? rather then flying around, exploring and meeting people in the astral.

  Lately i have been trying to work on concentration and longevity, so that one day i can have longer and more spiritual experiences. I think i have a problem with creativity when it comes to obe because i have been finding it more difficult lately to think of new things to do.

As to what is a productive experience in the Astral that is a good observation,and question. What I am about to mention is NOT based on my personal experience, but upon a lot of reading and the direction I am considering taking. While just floating around, flying and creating environments is incredibly therapeutic and enjoyable, surely there could be attainable a better use of these experiences.   It could be said that there are many different frequencies/vibrations to the Astral and beyond. It could be said there are the more non productive, yet enjoyable areas like meeting people,phasing to different locations both objectively existent in the collective consciousness and similar locations to the physical, and then there is a higher more subtle "upper' part of the Astral sphere where progress can be made.  The activity I am alluding to partaking of in the "upper" Astral realm in Path working.

Perhaps someone better versed in Magic could further  elaborate upon my elementary understanding of this.
In Pathworking you purposely plan to visit specific areas of the Qabalistic Tree of Life.  On the tree of life there are in essence 10 Sephiroth and 22 paths. Each of the 22 paths correspond to a card of the Major Arcana of the Tarot, along with a letter of the Hebrew Alphabet.  Each of the "paths" have a number of correspondences which are specific to the particular path/card/letter,etc.  Without delving too much into a belief system... The idea is to memorize correspondences and visit certain paths on the Tree of life in the Astral, or what some consider "Mental" traveling.  While on that path you could examine several attributes around you to determine if by your observance of the "correspondences' you are in the collectively created, and objectively accurate path. Here you could ask specific questions of which ever being is verify ably present and learn more about yourself and other things which would be of interest. 

This is just an idea as you requested of a more productive way to spend your time in OBE. This way could understandably take a lifetime to work with, but would provide a structured way to proceed. I hope I haven't gone too far off topic and I could recommend additional resources from where I gathered my information if you so wish.

That may be so, but still, this isn't just any old famous person I want to see - it's the great Steve Irwin! I think it would be a positive experience, because Steve strikes me as having been a fairly spiritually evolved individual - he loved animals so much, and he seemed like such a nice, happy, friendly person.

And from what I've heard about Maurice Gibb and Andy Gibb, they were very kind, friendly people too.

There are other things I plan to do as well - but meeting up with them is high on my list of things to do once I get into the astral.

I think my favourite Andy Gibb song (of the few I've heard) is Our Love (Don't Throw It All Away). The Bee Gees sang that in a 1997 concert as a tribute to him, and it was very moving.

Short of setting things on fire ala "Firestarter," I do use the extra-sensory talents I've developed (an' am still developing) on a daily basis, by means of shielding others, distance-healing and the like.  I also use the planes and (well, I shouldn't say "use,") certain folk residing there for teaching me old mysteries, healing, many many things.  Ever been lucky enough to venture into a discussion with the Myrddyn?  He's an amazing man out there, and his efforts are still quite active in our physical plane today.  There are endless learning opportunities once projection becomes second nature to a person.  If you have a need here, an honest one, you can manifest the energies on the planes and direct them toward your physical needs.  It's how I kept a roof over my family's head when I was out of work for 5 months and how, so far, my daughter has stayed safe from her father's grip on her mind as he tries to turn her down a very dark path.  My work very rarely has anything to do with Witchcraft or "Magick," but with the manipulation of energies through the planes where those energies are free to move and build.

Also simply put, the reason the average adept cannot manifest PHYSICAL effects on the PHYSICAL plane (ie, lighting fires and hurling lawn furniture) is because the energy used to create those effects is immediately taken into the environment and into every solid thing that surrounds it.  Trying to move energy in the physical is like trying to walk through a muddy bog.  It gets trapped and stuck.  Everything around us, living and static, is made of energy and held together by energy and therefore "attracts" any energies which try to pass by or through it.  Most have not been able to open their mind enough and gain enough focus to bypass the physical objects enough to focus their energies onto one object and cause physical change to it.  I've seen it done personally, but with very little movement.  With a raucous pre-schooler, a hubby and a full time + job in the "big city," there's little opportunity for completely clearing the mind and maintaining the kind of focus that is needed for creating physical effects.

No, none offense taken. I kinda feel like a jackass for saying that stuff, but hey, just look at Talanay's quote "Better to be hated for who you are, then to be loved for someone you're not".

Anyway, I got more information, which was definitely what I was looking for (thats some interesting info you got there), and hey, look at how i opened someones eyes up to soul retrieval! I mean i didn't do it directly, but suffice to say, I was using a spirit guide, which I have been having problems with lately  If someone thinks they could help me with that please PM me that'd be great.
