this morning I tried to astral project. I focused  on calming my thoughts and relaxing. there is a period I can't remember what happened, but I remember at one point having somewhat of a dream. I could feel my body and knew I was lying in bed but had the feeling I was in my washroom. I started to feel like I was shaking and then this turned into a very rapid vibration. I was trying to relax and go with it but then I suddenly felt a very strong pressure on my head and face and I started seeing white dots and flashes in my vision. I started to panic and tried to fight off the vibrations. realizing I shouldn't have panicked I tried to bring the vibrations back which I briefly felt but then they stoped. I am just wondering if this was an actual astral projection and if I would have succeeded if I hadn't panicked?

any advice would be appreciated thanks.

It sounds like you initially "clicked out"... then during that period of clicking out, you clicked in and were mid-vibration.
If you hadn't panicked, sure, it sounds like you were definitely on the right track.  :)

It was not a complete AP, and looks like you aborted it mid way.

Vibrations are your friend, they are harmless :)
If you keep passive during this stage, you will find yourself out within seconds.

do I just go with them and then i'll just suddenly pop out? lol or do I have to imagine being somewhere else or floating up while the vibration are occuring?

Xanth

When you feel the vibrations and you're fully in the trance state (you won't separate if you're not in trance) then that is when you use your 'separation technique'.

the vibrations happened again this morning but there was the addition of a very strong bobbing sensation like I was rising up briefly and being pulled back? also everytime this happens I seem to be only conscious enough to  take notice of the vibrations, I always seem to be half in a dream. Is there any was I can be be more focused/alert during the experience?

One way is to use a timer to bring you out of shallow sleep into a awake-asleep border repeatedly.
A beeper sounding every 4-5 minutes or a looped sound should work. (just like the saltcube tech)

travelingdog,
I think your last post indicates a 'next step' improvement in your process. First, you described the vibrational stage. Now, you're describing a 'bobbing' sensation that I have experienced, and I think this is your 'energy body' starting to move around, finally be noticed and somewhat controlled by your conscious awareness. Your energy body can bounce all around, left to right, up and down, expand and contract...and it won't necessarily feel totally under your control just yet. The important thing is that you noticed and felt it.

Don't be frustrated if this seems a ridiculously slow process, you didn't learn to walk or ride a bike in one easy lesson, and this is no different...in fact it's harder on many levels. A challenge and an adventure!

I think a slow understanding and a kind of mental/astral 'rewiring' has to take place as you become aware of, and learn how to operate this new 'vehicle' you can inhabit.

At this point, you can try some different approaches; what will work for you can only be discovered by
you.

You can try 'willing' yourself upward or to roll out one side.

You can try a verbal command such as " I want to float/project upward into my room."

You can try modulating and increasing the vibrational rate to see if that initiates a release.

If none of this works, then simply 'let go'. Relax and drift in whatever direction you're taken. Be confident that you've given your sub?conscious enough instructions of what you want...and then let go, step aside.
If you push any approach too much, you'll just push yourself back to full, physical waking consciousness.

Keep the inner dialogue to a minimum.

Best of luck, EV

i'd say that you should get it into your mindset to believe that vibrations are awesome, but then you may get excited about them when you feel them and then inadvertently fail.

just imagine that they're not there, and if you feel them be aware of them but dont think about them. hell, sometimes you dont even need vibrations.
