So here i am flat on my back trying practicing to AP, after being still for 15 mins or so, i fell my body getting a warm tingling feeling from the leg slowly moving up to my hands and chest.. then suddenly my eyes start twitching or moving randomly .. i dunno.. kinda freaked me out.. anyone can tell me what it is? especially the movement my eye was making, which was out of my control untill i opened them..
Hi and welcome to the Pulse.
Try putting a pillow on your eyelids so it gently rests.
This will also prevent them just opening by themselves too.
I'm sure.many on here have had similar eye problems too.
If you can.switch off or totally ignore any bodily sensations as soon as you can, these inconveniences dissapear. Practice helps to do this.
thanks for the tip, i'm gonna try using some kind of eye blinds.. putting a pillow on my eye lids sees quite heavy.. :-D
I have used a towel. its almost like a virus or something
Could be entirely unrelated, but how long is your hair, and where does it lie? I say this because at times my medium-length hair can brush into the region of my eye-lash, and cause an irritated twitch if I don't notice it happening. It sounds plausible that something similar may happen to you. But then there are many other possibilities too.
I did some meditation last week whilst listening to an AP audio tape,. The exact same thing happened to me - completely involuntary my eyes just started going crazy. I listened to the tape again though the next night and got to the vibration stage,. so just ignore it I reckon and it'l probably fade away the way other distractions do :)
This will happen if there are any sudden noises in any music/tapes you listen too. Also make sure that there are no flickering lights. It will drive your eye receptors crazy and you will be blinking/twitching every second. Same happens when there are sudden noises in your tapes, except it sends the signals to your brain from a different connection since it's not affecting your receptors.
I'm not totally sure why but when I was starting with my teacher I was using A/P tapes... Monroe's actually and binaural beats and he told me to not use the headphones. It was in the early days of my using the box but he said it interferred. I was able to hear the converstation on the box without using a tape play back ... a practice which I later discarded as it led to problems later on. He said the electrical current on my head caused problems. It may be that the eye twitching is related to that because I don't remember having the problem since then.
I just remembered that after you mentioned you were listening to the tapes.
