Well, I will say that this is an interesting topic, if not a paradox There seems to be two main issues here:

1. The authenticity of the tablets.
2. The content of the tablets.

I have no idea of who this Doreal person is, aside from the title he gives himself. With regards to:

QuoteDoreal claimed that he was directed by a spiritual order called the Great White Lodge to recover and return the tablets to the Great Pyramid. Before returning them, he received permission to translate and retain a copy of their teachings. This translation was supposedly completed in 1925, but only now is part of it being published.

While nothing is impossible, I seriously doubt this story, which seems to me to be a cover explanation as to how he supposedly acquired the text. Also, this suggests that the text was not channelled but rather that Doreal somehow managed to translate the tablets from some obscure text, probably hieroglyphic, which, in itself, is doubtful in my view. As for returning the tablets to the great pyramid -  you cannot just walk in to the great pyramid with a bunch of tablets and hide them somewhere, and in any case, although the pyramids are much older than historians claim - I would say nearer 12,000 years, they are definitely not 36,000 years or more. Also, the ancient texts, whatever they are, are usually claimed to be located in a chamber beneath the Sphinx. So my immediate thought is that this is all a cover story to justify the supposed importance and authenticity of this text, which came about some other way. Also the fact that Doreal uses a false name and gives himself a grandiose title does not add much credibility, as if he wrote or channelled it and wanted to make it seem important so people would read it.

2. I haven't read much of the text, or intend to, but there is certainly truth and wisdom in the text if you can extract it, how he came by it is questionable

Interesting discussion anyway.

I believe I understand where you're coming from. My approach is a little different.

When I read or watch something, or evaluate an experience or a perception that attracted my attention, I look beyond the message and the facts; I intuitively interpret them as deeply as I can, considering the message or the facts as symbols intended to convey knowledge and guidance for me specifically.

In this way, it doesn't matter where the message comes from, what was the intention of the author, what is the apparent informational value, or credibility, but only what I interpret from it; and it is very likely that most others interpret it differently, according to their specific needs at the moment.

We each read and understand, perceive reality, through the filter of our beliefs, some of which we aren't even conscious that they aren't hard truths.

Probably one of the most important Thoth teachings, from this booklet, is that we are here to learn, or how he puts it, to progress from the darkness of ignorance to the light of wisdom. He states that wisdom, one's goal, comes from knowledge, and knowledge comes from experience. These teachings are in stark contrast with most religions and philosophical schools, especially the nondualism which preaches not thinking, and dissolving into a oneness soup with the loss of one's individuality.

Thoth preaches conscious learning.

The eternal struggle between darkness and light, isn't between evil and good, but about the inner progress from ignorance to wisdom, where the wisdom is infinite, opening to higher and higher unimaginable deeper levels of wisdom.

The time references in the booklet and preface, are meaningless in absolute terms, they just symbolize the enormous number of lessons man has to go through. This alludes to the widely misunderstood physical time dimension, and of the nature of reality.

I believe that one can draw knowledge and guidance even from flipping a coin, if one approaches it through intuitive interpretation.

Anyway, I just express my beliefs, not to argue them against others'.

Yes I agree with what you are saying. It is definitely not possible to receive accurate authentic channelled information through the filters of the ego, for reasons you mentioned.

I have concluded that, in this case, the background story regarding where the text came can be fundamentally disregarded, and in fact is largely irrelevant. The text itself however is worthy of further examination in its own right. .

When it comes to channelled material of the type found on Youtube for example, not that I listen to them usually, it is impossible to be sure of the identity and authenticity of the entity it is supposedly channelled from, many are imagined, and others are low Astral or etheric entities who claim to be any higher being  to be taken seriously. The only way to be absolutely sure is by the accuracy of the information being channelled.  That said, there are one or two I have listened to that I am satisfied are genuine.

Alex's experiences' description in the opening post has commonalities with some of my altered states experiences.

This is an unedited copy of journal record I made some time ago:

QuoteCountdown 10 ... 1; special place cottage basement, chose to project through door "Astral Plane". Asked K to assist me on my experience. Opened door.. Misty, nothing to worry about, somewhat inviting, grayish. Stepped in. I realized I left my body behind; I knew it was asleep in my bed. Looked down on me: I didn't have a body; no hands. A little later I realized there is something, of undefined form, as my body, transparent.

K explained it was created by my ingrained belief that I come with, that I have a body. Gradually I began to see some luminous orbs, of small dimension, that I would say were about a head's size, the color of an incandescent bulb, kind of yellowish, brownish, whitish. All seemed pretty much alike. Moving playfully, not fast.

K said I can communicate with them, I can see them in whatever form and environment I want, because I create the forms. Communication, and all perception were instantaneous, internal, then I interpret them to perceive them in the manner convenient to me. I didn't communicate with others. It was like I was explained what this "astral plane" is, likely by K, telepathically.

I told my subconscious a few times that I want to recall the experience well when I wake up. This was one of the many, infinite number, of astral planes on which identities project to experience. To operate on it, I have to discover what are the basic assumptions of that plane, pretty much as a newborn (even from the womb) does it; including the internal perception that he then materializes through his senses; to perceive according to the ingrained knowledge, beliefs, experiences that he comes with.

On that plane, there are available an infinite number of stories to learn from, to choose from, to explore. You can know those stories as an observer, or you can get immersed in them to whatever degree you want, or involuntarily slip into them. They are already written, and especially when you are going through the first stories on that plane, you follow them as they are, like reading books.

There are guides who assist you in what you choose, how much you get immersed. Later you can, if you want to, creatively change the story you follow, to change its course, according to what you'd like to see "what if", or according to preference. One life is made of many stories.

At some point I perceived that a number of rigid layers accumulate on top of each other, practically reducing the "space" I could maneuver in. I wasn't interacting, as an orb, with anybody directly, but could communicate internally, instantaneously.

I was told, by K (?), that the accumulation of layers, and reduction in possibilities is a reflection of experiencing relatively random stories, with no real growth. I have always, at any moment of the experience on that plane, the choice to leave for another plane, just based on preference.

At any moment, too I can re-orient my whole experience to learn with a place to grow, to make conscious, meaningful choices of the stories, and in working with them, both in the degree of immersion, of how creatively deal with them.

In this experience, when squeezed by the accumulated layers, I chose to discard them, and continue from what seemed useful, learning more constructively, as much as I felt that is still to learn, not for the sake of that plane, to continue until I decide, guided too, to move on.

Don't recall if I fell asleep, or if there was more that I don't recall. All the time, occasionally, I recalled that I am connected to a physical body that sleeps. There were moments during the experience when I felt an itch, heard a noise, needed to change position, to which my physical body reacted accordingly, without my identity's intervention, it continuing its experience on the "astral plane" projection, but being aware of those physical body reactions.

Thoughts (K) about last night experience: The color of the orbs was also like a candle flame; this might have a significance, as that a connection could also be made with the hollow around their heads in the saint's representations.

It seems that the physical experience isn't to test your learning, as much as for observing, interpreting, drawing knowledge and guidance.

Maybe this is the significance of the knowledge I got a few days ago that the biggest limiting belief I have is that I believe that I need to find what to do; that should be replaced with that I can do anything I want.
