what exactly is thanksgiving is it like christmas? im from the UK and we dont have it. are we loosing out on a holiday?

Thanksgiving is i guess an american holiday where the pilgrims had a feast or something, i dont remember it, but the tradition is to have a big meal with the meat as turkey.
Now you COULD jump off a building, but.... youd die.

happy thanksgiving everyone. But the rare once every 5 or 6 year occasion comes also, my birthday falls on thanksgiving this year, and its my 16th birthday to so im thinking about getting a car now.
