maybe 12 months ago. lying on top of my bed one afternoon i managed to drift into the state where my mind is completely divorced from my body. i'm able to stay focused on not having any sensation of any part of (or pressure/feeling on) my body. my eyes are shut.
i cannot hear anything and can not even feel myself breathing.
i then start to get the familiar puppet limbs. my limbs on at a time start to very slowly and smoothly rise up. they feel like they are magnetic (the force is there but you can't feel it) and are attracted upwards.
usually at this point (it has happened many times before) i lose the battle to stay focused on being unfocused (if you get my drift) and am back to being normal again. however this time i felt very relaxed and before i knew it i was instantly floating, eyes still closed and at the time was aware that there was something maybe within an inch of the tip of my nose. i felt completely at ease and had this sense that i was floating very naturally. i kept my eyes shut and kept very relaxed throughout. i didn't have any sensation of having to "try" in order to remain this relaxed. i just naturally went with it. i spent at least long enough time floating like this to try and think what could possibly be just in front of my nose. i was floating face up, lying on my back. i couldn't see anything just darkness so i didn't have any reference points to say i was floating but felt absolutely confident that i was floating somewhere. like hovering .
then all of a sudden i have a visual picture of a spherical object i off to my right about a 3 foot away. its football sized and light in shade. i don't see any specific colour. my head is lent over to the right as i try to distinguish what i'm looking at.....all of a sudden i'm floating on my front and have a visual picture of  myself lay on my bed. this one is like a snapshot, real quick. i don't see any specific detail. then zap.i'm back where i started in bed eyes still shut ,still relaxed but definitely conscious that i'm where i think iam (on top my bed) and everything is ok.
i then start to go through what just happened and i can't think of any ball shaped object. i spend maybe 1 minute trying to come up with something but can't think of anything. drawing a blank i open my eyes and look up. on my ceiling my lampshade is one of them big paper ball things.
all this took place without me trying at all. it just happened. i have tried a few times and got as far as one or all limbs raising. but then it gets tough to stay with it. this time i remained calm and it just happened...if it did?
i felt nothing more or less really. no vibration.i never have.
it was really weird and yet felt perfectly normal.
i want to do it again : )  whatever its is.
i pretty confident that i was conscious throughout. it didn't feel like a dream because i felt in control of what i was thinking. as oppose to what was going on around me of which i don't assume i had any control.
weird.

Well it sounds like you were out of your body if I've understood what you wrote correctly. You'll KNOW when you are floating. You won't think or feel it. I'd say the thing you saw might have been something ordinary in the room and your just experiencing trouble understanding 360 degree vision. How did you go looking around?

the thing is i did know i was floating. i didn't have to think about it. and i didn't really feel it. i simply knew i was. i didn't float around anywhere...just hovered in one spot.
the whole thing lasted about 30 seconds. maybe less.

You didn't feel like you were floating or you did?

Could you see or not? What did it feel like when you returned to your body from floating? Did you just snap back, or did you feel like you were rising from somewhere deep within your body to conscious awareness?

could i see?
difficult one. i saw a spherical object. i saw myself lay on my bed. were my eyes open? don't know.
when i returned to my body (if that is what happened) i kinda snapped back into it. i didn't feel a rush or hear anything (although i have at other times heard what sounds like a roar that builds to an abrupt end over a second or so ).
its difficult now to remember precisely due to it being 12 months ago but i do recall exactly how i felt about it and the conclusions i came to after the event.
haven't really tried that hard since but have experienced my limbs rising on many occasions.
i should start practicing : )
