hello everyone,  I'm a new member to this site.  i started studying astral projection for about a year.  and about five months ago i think i projected or had a lucid dream.  OK this is the story.  it was about 10:30pm that night, i told myself that I'm going to have a projection or a lucid dream.  i lay on my side and started mediating.  About 5 Min's went by, and i had a small burst of vibrations that went though my body. Then i heard a dog bark,  but it was really loud.  felt like the dog was right next by my bed.

then all of a sudden i was at my parents house.  In the living room, i looked around but my vision was fuzzy kinda like if you was to open your eyes under water.  everything was black and the only thing i could see was one side of the wall.  i moved towards it.  I remember reading about asking for clearness but nothing happened.  i looked up then seen something that looked like my brother walking towards me.  i wasn't ready to see to talk to anyone so i stared feeling uneasy.  as he approach me, his face started melting and looked scarier every time he got closer.  so i said "if I'm dreaming then i can fly".  so i took a big jump, then i flew into the air.  there was no ceiling only blackness.  i felt myself falling back, so i asked to see my higher self,  then a gassy ball of light appeared above my head.  then i woke up.

was this a AP or Lucid dream?

It sounds like an OBE to me, lucid dreams only happen after you've been asleep for awhile, takes a bit of time to get into the dream state. Also you don't have vibrations when entering a lucid dream. That being said it's a personal experience and only you can decide if it was or wasn't, but it certainly fits the bill.

The thing is OBE's and AP can seem like a lucid dream after time passes. It's because our physical brain doesn't know how to correctly store the experience, it just does it anyway it can and decides to treat it like a dream. The longer it's been the more it seems like it was a dream as you're recalling the stored memory.

Congrats and welcome to the board  :-D

Yes, agree with you. i also think lucid dreaming only happen after you've been asleep for a while which come into the dream state. Also you don't have vibrations when entering a lucid dreaming.

Probably a little of the two if you ask me.
