Title: How close was I?
Post by: S_man_9 on May 06, 2010, 20:34:58
Im sure thre are a lot of posts like this so Ill try not to drag it on for too long. Anyways, I was out of town with my sister, nephew and bro in law. We stayed at a hotel. I was having a hard time sleeping since the baby was always waking up crying. Anyways I woke up in the middle of the night and without much focus (I was very tired and pretty much half asleep) I was feeling vibrations and almost a ringing/buzzing. I have had sleep paralysis before and I remember getting a very scared feeling come over me in prior experiences. I felt like I could almost control it. I tried to stay as calm as possible. My whole body felt paralyzed. I could open up my eyes and look around as well as hearing my sister talking in the other room. I tried not to fight it. I also felt as if my leg was almost being pulled to one side and although my mouth wasent open for some reason it felt like it was. The vibrations/buzzing came and left multiple times. I didnt know where to go really from there. I eventually fell asleep.

Input?

Sounds like you were coming in and out to me.  The sensation of feeling something, like your mouth open, is a sign to me that you were out, yet still right at your physical body.  Next time you find yourself at this point, think about getting away from your body.  There are sooooo many different moves at this point that you really need to find out what works for you best.

I have to literally roll and grab at the carpet or I find my legs rise up and up until I'm on my head.   Maybe next time it happens, if your leg pulls to that one side again, that would be a good point to focus on getting out and away from your physical.

Hope that made sense and helps.  :-)

thanks guys. So when u say focus on separating would u just try to imagine yourself pulling away from your body? When my leg moved shortly after I for some reason felt like repositioning it and when I did I abruptly felt I was back in my physical body but my leg was where it was, never moved. It literally felt like someone was pulling my leg. So would u guys say I should try to focus on letting it move more and more? What do I do as far as visuals? Keep eyes closed and focus on the darkness?

Yes, just imagine and feel yourself pulling away.  Just get up. hehehe.. don't worry about the darkness at this point, just get up and away from your physical and the sight should kick in.  It might take several tries, but you sound like you are well on your way, and your don't sound over excited, so I think you'll have good results.

QuoteI for some reason felt like repositioning it and when I did I abruptly felt I was back in my physical body but my leg was where it was, never moved.

That's because your physical leg never moved. And trying to move caused you to focus on your physical, hence you feeling like you were back in.  You shifted your consciousness to your physical.  Shift it outward. :)

ok cool. Yea I am very new to this and that was maybe the 3rd or 4th time I came across that kind of experience. I have had sleep paralysis before and thats how I came across the subject of AP. I still dont really have any idea what Im doing but I seem to be progressing. Another question....Since it is usually night time when your asleep does that mean when u project it will be night as well?

In my experience it's dark, but not a normal dark and if I went through a window or door I could find myself in full light.  You should go into all these experiences without expectations.

Good luck!

I think it is important to remember the sensations you were experiencing. Sounds like you were in or near to the appropriate state for projection. Remembering these sensations helps to familiarize you with the key time to project, like a signpost. Time to work out a technique for projection. More than half the battle is getting to that state in the first place and realizing you are there.

Good luck and enjoy!
