Is there something blocking me from astral projection?

I have always wanted to have a successful astral projection. The first time I tried it, I used a YouTube video to guide me. It worked... sort of. I experienced rapid heart rate and I could feel myself floating. However, I was told I experienced an early exit sensation. This also happened my second attempt. After that, I've never had an experience again like how I just described. The most I felt was vibrations. I tried using a different YouTube video... nothing. Does anybody have any suggestions as to what may cause this? Am I doing something wrong or are there things that I should be doing?

One of the things you can try which I found to work much better is the inward method. I wrote this up. It's on a sticky but I'll go over it briefly here. I believe ( not everyone agrees) that projection is actually an inward event. The sense of being away from your body is because when you completely focus on your inside " self" your actually in an unrestricted infinite environment. In any case it's a much easier way to project.  Basically focus inward towards your heart relax and keep going until something happens. The challenge is that you fall asleep at a certain point. You've been trained to do that all your life. As you practice going inward and not falling asleep you push that line back. Eventually you find yourself away from the physical.  There are no exit signs ( these are illusions anyway)

I tried the methods your describing for years and they didn't work. It wasn't until I figured this out that I was able to do anything. I don't really practice projection for it's own sake but have specific spiritual goals when I'm doing this. Phasing or projection is a side effect of the meditation I do.  Honestly projection itself is kinda of like having a very vivid dream but I found that using some the techniques in trance induction which is essentially self hypnosis to be very helpful in working towards spritual goals.

Self hypnosis is a good area to study when your looiking at learning this skill. I'm a big fan of Edgar Cayce and he actually wrote quite a bit about astral projection. His method is very close to mine. He was able to do projections while maintaining a small part of his consciousness in the physical. and he was able to do it anywhere and multiple times a day. He didn't have the internet only a little book on self hypnosis and was able to help thousands of people with the skill.

To be direct, yes, something is blocking you:  YOU are. 
Most people end up blocking themselves because they don't really understand what it is they're trying to do in the first place.  This is normal for most people.

Let me ask you this then...
Have you had what you would then label an unsuccessful astral projection?

The only issue most people have is in their definitions... most people *HAVE* experienced an astral projection, but their limited definitions cause them to throw out their experience because they can't place it into a neat, tidy "experience label box" (ie: "lucid dream" or "astral projection").

What I try to do is get people to widen their definitions and see that there's more to experience than these limiting labels everyone uses.  The labels most people use are horrendously inaccurate.
