Phasing vs Traditional OBE

I rarely post personal experiences, but I had a series of "phasings" this morning that got me thinking... a little more.

I had a very stressful week that left me exhausted. I slept very little this week, and have been excited for Friday, my last day til vacation. So last night I let loose, slept like a baby! Got a good 9 hours sleep, went to the bathroom, and back to bed.

After only a minute or so, the blackness behind my eyelids produced an image and I was in the perfect state of consciousness to grab hold and enter it. I'd play in some astral environment for a couple minutes, roll over in bed, and seconds later be somewhere else. The transition felt nearly instant and effortless each time. I only remember it being this easy once several years ago. Both times weren't planned attempts.

I remember Frank stating years ago that some of the advantages to phasing were no vibrations, no "exit" sensations, instantaneous "phase" into the astral sans travel. He proposed the idea that the only reason we go through a physical like separation from our body is because of the familiarity and common sense (seeming) approach. We think that's how it has to happen, so that's how our subconscious does it.

We also attach our identities to our bodies. Maybe phasing gets easier and easier as we realize and experience that we are much more than bodies.

Anyways, I've been at this for years and am constantly changing my concepts of astral projection. I guess you have to if you want to progress. Maybe this will help others who are stuck, who maybe just need to approach the idea of AP a little differently.

Edit: not that it matters, but in one of the AP's I found myself in the middle of a street, and a van came coming around a curve at me. There was a lady behind the wheel who didn't notice me standing in the street, so just as the van was about to hit me I jumped/floated up onto the hood and road it GTA style a couple blocks, then got thrown off going around a corner. It was exhilarating! and left me laughing. :-D

Very very insightful. Gives me something to think about.

Thanks.

Thanks for sharing Stookie. Phasing really can be a "cleaner" way of having an Astral experience. The standard vibrations, attempting to roll, or climb out of your body can induce many peculiar sensations, challenges and reasons to wake yourself up back into the physical.

Phasing is awesome when it happens...I recall a few where I was viewing a scene, realized what was going on and tried to sort of "get up" or stretch out into that scene.....and sure enough I found myself in it, a great feeling.

IMHO, phasing can also help to circumvent the dweller on the threshold phenomena.

Phasing works best for me and I usually go from a Lucid Dream.  Meditation worked for a while in the distant past, but I've had trouble meditating lately.  I love Frank's article.   :-)

LDing seems harder to do than astral projecting imo, because my mind runs off as it were instead of remembering to think that Im actually dreaming. I wonder, do astral projections go as fast and as unnoticeably quick as dreams ?

Yes Zino, I say what ever works best for you.  I'm not picky.   :-D

I would say phasing is the way to go. Like Stookie, I have had some great experiences with phasing, and one of the best features is that you can sometimes hit on the state by accident, like when half asleep.

Stepping into scenes and walking around is great fun!
