Sounds to me like you had an obe.  I have only had a few, but one of the times I got that big bang and light flashes going on in my head, they are pretty typical.  Congrats and keep  practicing b/c thats the only way you'll get the hang of it.

I almost always hear a loud bang before exit.  Now when I hear it, I recognize it as a sign that I'm about to OBE.  To me, this is a natural part of it.

Hello. This is my first post
I would like to share my experience and maybe tell me if that was an ABE
I was into ABE thing a lot. I've read so many books and really I've been trying to have one for more than 2-3 years. Finally I gave up.
One night while in my bed and before I fell asleep there was this loud bang in my head. Like an explosion and lights flashing. Then I felt like floating about half metre or more above my bed. The strange thing is that I had 2 consciousness. Meaning I could think either from my body in the bed and from my floating body. Then my floating body turned into the bed and I saw my self sleeping. Then I realized that I might have had an ABE and I got scared and somehow I was pulled back and I opened my eyes. I know it was not a dream but really was it an ABE? Do people have this bangs and lights in their heads before that or not? Since then I never had a simillar experience. Just another bang in my head some months later but nothing more.
