Hum...  could you quote me where I said that?  And why are you talking about death anyway?  Appart from the "coffin", there is nothing related to death...  If you prefer, we can say it was a box.

Sensory Deprivation Tank?

It was more than the lack of sensory inputs; I had nothing to analyse/think/translate.  I do get the sensory deprivation effect just before I get the vibe...  but I am still able to think.  It was very different.

The void is such a peaceful place. mmmmm
Alice had got so much into the way of expecting nothing but out-of-the-way things to happen, that it seemed quite dull and stupid for life to go on in the common way.

Nagual

Yes but, when I am in the void, I can still think, take decisions, get bored as time passes...

Very interesting experience Nagual!

I have been in the void place once, but as you said it is different. I was there in the dakrness, no sound, no sensation of my body at all, not even my heartbeat or breathing, nothing at all, just my very own mind/consciousness to think. And I was thinking I want to wake up. I want to feel my body. But I could not. I was just there in the complete void for a few sec (5-10sec), it seems. But I had my mind to think, my will to want, my determination to try, etc... Maybe becasue of the sensation of peacefulness you did not have any thoughts, but you could have had one ..? Do you understand what I mean? You were just absorbed in the void place, absorbed by peacefulness and therefore you were enjoying instead of deciding.. a little bit as when you watch a movie, you are mostly passif, not actif.. could it be that it was because of that sensation of peacefulness?

Nagual

Hum.. you mean I was kind of focusing on peacefulness... a bit like meditation?  Interresting possibility.  The tricky part is that I can't really tell if I felt at peace during the experience, or if I realized I was at peace after it...

Nagual,

Lack of analytical thought as you have described I ahve also experienced. I have memories before coming here, and I had that lack of thought. I had it again while aware of being in my mother's womb. The last time I had it was before I was "killed off," during what I believe was an OBE experience.

Essentially, I call my experience a powerful awareness of the present, the lack of "thought" implying no sense of past or future (What did I do yesterday, What will I do tomorrow), just the profound sense of presence. There were also no worries and no fears, everything was provided for.

That is my interpretation of my experience, if it helps.

Immediatly, the cover began to go down and it closed on me.

That means you were thinking about dying.

Immediatly, I found myself floating in space. The thing is that I was not thinking. I had no thoughts at all. It was the best experience/feeling I have ever had! It was soooo peaceful... And, since I did not have any notion of time, comfort, anything, I could have stayed there for ever... but then I woke up.

That's what death feels like. We've both been dead before we were born. Did you forget?

ralphm

Maybe this is a memory from a prior life and death, if you want try it out in the physical i happen to have a spare coffin in the back yard. I loaned it out to some young guy for a halloween party a few years ago and now he is a born again christian!
In the world in general and in this nation
May not even the names disease, famine, war, and suffering be heard.
May virtuous qualities, merit, and prosperity greatly increase
And may continuous good fortune and subline well-being perfectly arise.

As far as I know, I was not thinking that at all...  I was barely thinking: "Hum... what's next?".  But maybe you know me better than I do... [:P]

I have no idea what death feels like.  And, so far, I am not convinced reincarnation exist...

And thx ralphm, but I will first try a dream coffin...  [;)]

Dark Knight,

Thanks for sharing you interpretation.. I really think you pointed to a very important thing... when we do not (are not able) to think with words (like when we are in the womb) we certainly are not aware of the past and future but only of the present... our consciousness about anticipating the future and our nostalgy (memory) of the past are not yet there, as we are experiencing the same monotonic sensation of warm, darkness,... in the womb of our mother. Sure during NDE there is always that sensation of Peace engulfing the person, it goes very well with your interpretation. We return to that sensation where there is not past, future, out of the time and into peacefullness.

Thanks!

I think you have an idea what death feels like, but you cant consciously remember it. You posted about 2 things but didnt know they were related.

I didnt say reincarnation exists, but you probably did exist before you were born.

I don't know where to post this so here it is...  A few years ago I was having a dream and then, suddenly, I found myself lying in a coffin, lucid.  Immediatly, the cover began to go down and it closed on me.

Hum... maybe I will try another coffin in my next LD.  I really miss the feeling...
