I'm new to this so please bear with me as I explain...  I was six when I had my first OBE and have been doing this off and on most of my life.  When I was about 13 I was wandering around our farm in spirit form.  Not really realizing what I was doing, I didn't want to leave our home.  So I would wander our property.  One night I saw men trying to steel a hydralic thing from my father that I knew was expensive.  I remember thinking, "get up, wake up, now."   The next thing I knew I was at the bottom of our stairs in our house.   My mom was standing over me asking me if I was all right and where I was running to.   I didn't have the heart to tell her.  I learned early waking myself up was dangerous and had to be done with care.  Can anyone else tell the difference between earthbound spirits and live people spirits in their OBE's?  or wake themselves up like that?

Distinguishing between earthbound spirits (the deceased) and spirits of living people is not easy. There's no hard and fast rules.

In my experience, living people's spirits seem to be a little brighter in color and more active. Deceased energies can be a bit more dazed or lost in thought. My litmus test is that deceased spirits in the astral tend to have "bad breath." but I've only known one other explorer to confirm this aspect.

Bad breath?   :?   What strikes me most is the difference in appearance.  I can see distinctly the difference.  I'm not sure how, I've just always been able to.  On another thread I talked about a male deceased spirit I met as a child.   He did have an odor, but I'm unsure if it was his breath.  He smelled rotten if that helps.   Some of the deceased spirits I have seen do appear lost in thought or stuck in their life they led while alive, not really aware their dead.  BTW, thank you for your reply.

Has anyone woken themselves up with the awareness that something is happening you want to stop?  Like thieves in the night?
