I don't know why I didn't bring this up before. About a month ago I had a dream. And in the dream my "dream" self was going to go to sleep which would have sent me to sleep while already in a dream, strange I know. But instead of falling asleep in my dream I began to feel like I was falling and in a matter of seconds I was in what seemed like a dream.

Anyways I woke up in a strange apartment with my IPOD and a familiar song was playing but in reverse. Anyways. I exited the apartment and flew over the town. This felt way more realistic than the dream had been. However I would black out and end back up in my dream. Really weird. Eventually I woke up. Anyways. Any thoughts?

Sounds like a lucid dream or semi lucid dream to me. Were you in control or your dream? When I have an OBE it is very different from a dream or a lucid dream. I am conscious of every part of it and although it is a mystical experience it is not like a dream. On the other hand when I have lucid dreams it is most definately a dream and I am in control and I can manifest anything with my mind but this is a more fantasy like play world for me.

I was definitely concious of every part of it. I've had lucid dreams before and this was different.

Well if you were conscious and you state it was more realistic than a dream it probably was an OBE. Also you stated you flew over the town which is very common in an OBE.

What defines the OBE is that you're fully conscious and aware that you're having an OBE. If you don't realize it, then it's just a dream. Although you might have bouts of semi-lucid consciousness.
