Title: Projection???
Post by: astralcow on April 13, 2010, 20:57:34
Hi, awile ago I took a nap in the morning, and like usual, expereinced sleep paralysis(Very freqeunt with my meds.), but shortly after i was paralized I felt myself floating away from my body and the couch at will, where  I then floated around the dark basement and through the door into my livingroom upstairs. I dont know if this was a projection because 1. I had no astral body, i was just a blob of consciousness, and 2. I do know that floating sensations coupled up with strong hypnagogic imagery can create a pseudo projection. Also there was no glowing light in the room, but simply very dreamlike and vague.
Anyhelp would be very appreciated.

Dear astralcow,

1. it's for a reason the astral body has been called desire body. It is one's residual self image. If the ego is not much present in the mind of the projector, he may pose no astral figure. In my last projections I was nothing but a free floating camera either.

2. Anomalies and fluctuations coupled with a relatively solid environment are signs of being in the real-time-zone an inbetween place between the astral and physical.

Keep in mind that it is natural for the body-mind, the brain to become skeptic to memories of other realities because it is incomprehensible for it can not exist there.

kind regards,

Paul

Hallo Astralcow

For what it's worth I believe that you DID have an OBE. Here's why.
My criteria for determining an OBE is quite simple --- there are only two standards, and your experience qualified for both of them.
1) There needs to be vision during the experience. You had this and were aware of moving through at least 2 rooms inside your residence.
2) It has to be full separation and not only a partial separation (example - only an arm or a leg separating from the physical). Again you qualify, definately a full OBE.
As regards you not having a full astral body--- well that is really very common. Actually I would estimate that up to half of the people who have OBEs do even notice either the shape nor size of the astral body that they inhabit.

I disagree with GT's first point, I have had projections without vision.  You can do what Robert Peterson calls mind-sensing.  You can't see but you can "feel" the space.  I've done it before.  I don't have any visual memory but I remember moving through my room, knowing where i was at all times.  I went into the living room and could feel the energy coming from everything in the room.  It was like echo location but i felt the vibrations instead of heard them.

I still think you projected though.

I also stand behind Tiny in that I can't ever remember a body, I always seem to be a flying camera.  Though, I've never really intentionally looked for my body.  Never interested in it.  When I get out I just go.
