Been reading through Franks posts pdf, I'm about 300 some odd pages in. I am intrigued by a lot of what he talks about in his experiences in the Astral. Particularly the beings he describes as "Scamps" who apparently exist just to play tricks on you. He says they each have some sort of "party trick" that they will play on you to get a reaction, usually fear I'd imagine. So my question is, are these real beings? Or are they simply energy beings that are projections from someone's mind? How can you recognize them before they try to "scamp" you? I still am trying to understand much of the dynamics of life in the Astral.
They're just his interpretation of something he experienced which found to continually changed.
If I remember correctly that was from when he had just recently joined the Pulse. I think closer to the end he would have had a different perspective of them. Actually you'll notice he didn't mention much about scamps after a certain point.
I agree 100% per with that statement Xanth. If you look back at just about anyone's earlier posts here, you will find that their perceptions have altered from what they used to be. My own have changed quite a bit as well.
Maybe a little of both. It really is hard to tell your own creations from things you didn't author, at least for me. "Scamp" was just his term though... it is a general word for a playful childlike thing.
Interesting. So you guys think they were probably just figures he was projecting from his own subconscious? Was that the consensus he eventually came to? And have any of you guys experienced any "scamp" like characters on the astral, trying to get a rise out of you like he describes?

I believe it was during the time he had his concept of his "training zone", which he eventually stopped using because he finally figured out what was going on.
After his "training zone" phase ended, he stopped mentioning his "scamps".
I think everybody has some type of 'scamp' scenario. I once thought a huge black figure was running at me screaming 'don't wake up', but after the omg I'm dying feeling I keep looking and the figure turned into a little boy. So I consider that a scamp situation, even though I think the little boy wanted to look like that towards me because he himself was afraid of me. I haven't had anymore incidents like that one. Now their peaceful, beautiful, and calm. Everyone is different so my experience will be completely different than let's say 'my neighbors'. It's how we interpret things and I also think it's a sort of test. I scare easily when the next May just laugh it off. The secret is don't focus or even think about anything negative. The truth is there is NOTHING that will harm you. Millions of people astral project daily and they wake up just like the people that don't. :-D

That's another concept I found intriguing. What did he shift his perspective on the "training zone" to? I'm assuming the training zone he talks about is also the RTZ?

As I have seen in my journey's, the "Training Zone" is exactly what it says. It's a NPR Training Zone where you are shown things that will aid you in the NPR, like the one I first learned which was "depth perception". This came when a scenario appeared, whereas a man standing on a stage giving a lecture (who just happened to end up being my deceased Brother-in), bent down and picked up a bow and arrow. He shot it in my direction and I got to see the arrow coming in slow motion. That one was an eye opener, lol! :-)
Once in a blue moon now I will go back there to learn anew. But that is very rare now. I believe you see/encounter it when you need to. :wink:
It's a "Astral School" of sorts. Here is thread I created on that topic back in 2011. It was my very first post here on the Astral Pulse.

I was just watching the David McCready videos on his website and he talks about lower astral spirits who play tricks on you --sound equal to scamps. Sounds like he believes they are real because he even said that they are responsible for regulating the earths systems. ??? You've probably seen his threads on here. Maybe you should ask him his opinion. Come to think of it, if you don't I probably will. Interesting subject.

Wow. I find it fascinating that there is an actual "training zone" for Astral Projectors to learn how to operate and such in the Astral. I hope that's where I wind up when I first start exploring the Astral, whenever that is. I'll give your thread a read, thanks for the link.

That's just it, what Frank saw as the "training zone" was his interpretation of an experience that changed based upon his expextations/beliefs/intent...
You'll find that he stopped using that term too, along with scamps eventually because they're not fundamental aspects of the nonphysical.
