Hey guys, this is my first post and I am new to this website. I actually have just started reading and finding out about this today! Anyhow, I had an interesting dream a while ago that I hope someone can share some insight on. I never thought much of the dream afterward until I started reading about it. I was experiencing a normal dream, until a couple of cues made me aware that I was dreaming (I've been working on picking up cues during dreams in order to experience lucid states). Normally during my lucid dreams, I am in complete control of my dream and I'm almost instantly in a great memorable place having a blast. This time, however, the very instant that I became aware of the dream I was inadvertently pulled into something that I can  best describe as a wormhole. I felt accelerating extremely rapidly and could feel the resistance and the g-forces in my body. This was all in a matter of seconds, and as soon as that occurred I awoke. Has anyone else ever heard of a similar like experience? I am just trying to understand if this was just normal or if there's something more to it.

Thanks for taking the time to read this,

Vlad.

Hey vlad. Yeah i have had much similar experiences. It is a very mysterious experience, I have read about it and asked about it for a while as i get it often. Here are some possibilities:

-Your are experiencing the very experience of exiting the dream world to the waking world
-You are exiting the dream and entering the astral plane (but your conciousness hasnt followed into the astral)
-Maybe your energy doesnt have enough energy to carry on being in the dream world
-It could simply be your subconcious, maybe some kind of energy barrier within the subconcious or just your lust to travel in a wormhole :) if this is the case, try meditation before you sleep, it will help awareness memory and focus and maybe gain more understanding if it happens again - if it happens again try to not experience it but be the observing eye and maybe ask yourself why it is happening and maybe your subconcious will give you an answer.
The government says, "No you may not expand your mind beyond our control. No you may not experience altered states of consciousness that can be beneficial to you as an individual. You must see reality within the context of which we give you..." pfft

The wormhole/vortex is an exciting ride. You have to kind of just hang on until you reach the end of it. It is thrilling and scary at the the same time, but you need to conquer your fear to see what lies ahead. Welcome to the wonderful world of OBEs.  :-)

Thank you both for the responses! It was just incredibly peculiar because it felt as though I lost complete control and felt like I was about to enter a completely different reality than the dream world or the real world, yet I awoke as soon as it was about to happen.

CFTraveler

Yep, I call it a vortex experience.

i've had the same experience! well several times actually, and i know it feels like you're going to die but trust me when you reach the end it is amazing. For me I see doors/portals to others dreams, well thats what i think it is for the very least. since when you choose to open a door it changes into a completely different dream that I have no control over really.. But it is amazing! Next time just go for it until you reach the end of the wormhole

my first lucid dream, when i was a youngster, pulled me back in a similar way.

i became lucid, panicked, and went for a hell-ride.

only later i learned that it's simply because my energy/astral/oobe body was undeveloped.

Hi,
Take the ride into the unknown.
You'll end up sayin wow.
I was reluctant at first (too young, under 10) but not now ... Stargate revisited.
There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.

My first OOBE was an AWAKE spontaneous one.

Here is the link to description. No. 9 >

After I got out and found myself (astral body) hovering above my physical body, I again felt
a roaring sensation in my ears and vibrations throughout my body.

Then I saw with my physical eyes a swirling portal/vortex suddenly appear:
it was about half a metre in diameter, and located towards the ceiling, close to the corner of my bedroom.
There was a force within the vortex compelling my astral body towards it.

While my astral body was being sucked into the portal,
* my physical eyes saw numerous colourful fine light strings & distorted shadows.
* my astral body heard an accompanying sound like a tape being fast reversed. I felt so scared at the time  :-o

I too experienced the acceleration and great force during the trip.

Now that I have better understand of the wormhole experience being part of OOBE and lucid dreaming,
I can't wait for another 'Stargate' experience  :wink
We are spirit, expressing what we will.
We act out perSONAs on our stage of iMAGEination.
We are both the dreamer & the dream.
I think therefore I am.
I am consciousness & potentiality
