a "lucid dreaming" dream

Hello

I'm sharing this experience in Dreams, because it felt like a dream. But a peculiar one.

I  dreamed that I was under a table, trying to hide from a kind of monster. I knew that it was eventually going to find me *again* [yet I can't remember of any dream with the same scenario].

I suddenly realized it was a dream and that I could change it [So we could say I became lucid; yet I can't remember to feel as awake as when I become lucid, it feels more like dreaming about becoming lucid]

I stood up and looked directly at the monster with some gentle and loving look and...the monster vanished. Happy with that, I thought "Great, I now can do everything I want!". Aware that it would certainly not last long, I hurried up to try out every abnormal things I should be able to do in that state [I've never had a full lucid dream nor a full OBE so far, so it was a good opportunity]

First I tried to push my right hand in a physical object. Encountering some resistance, it eventually sinked through it, leaving me with a weird and fun feeling in my hand. Satisfied, I thought than I should then be able to walk across a wall. A bit hesitating, I approached the wall and...melted with it. The feeling was even weirder, covering my whole body. Then, standing outside [of a house I used to live in, not my current house] I thought that I should be able to fly to the roof. So I jumped and I easily reached the roof. [Then I woke up]

The overall quality of all this was that of a dream. In some way, I dreamed that I became lucid and that I tried some experiments.
Or was it a real lucid dream which I eventually dismissed as a dream? I can't say. But it was fun!

The act of resisting a thing is the act of granting it life. The more you resist, the more you make it real - whatever it is you are resisting.

Sounds like a Lucid Dream to me.  It sounds like you were aware that you were dreaming and then took control of your dream.  That is all that I want in a Lucid Dream.....
Build a man a fire and he will be warm for an hour.  Set a man on fire and he will be warm for the rest of his life.

I never understand this difference that people say, to have a lucid dream or to dream up a lucid dream, to me it's all the same since you're dreaming anyway. It's not like a false awakening, or even weirder, to dream an Obe, it could happen though, if you dream you are asleep and in your sleeping dream you leave your dream body, what body would it be, subastral?

Actually, to dream you're sleeping is one of the techniques to achieve an Obe.

It sounds like you were lucid enough and managed to accomplish the things you set out to. Very nice experience. Congratulations for crossing the wall, you don't know how hard that is for me :exclamation:

Hello

Thank you for your nice comments!

What makes me feel uneasy to say that it was a lucid dream is that I suppose that a lucid dream requires that you are fully aware in a dream environment, as if you were fully awake but in a new environment. Is this right or not?

I have never had a full lucid dream, I mean that I've never became lucid (fully aware) and said to myself : "wow, I'm lucid! Now what will I do?". Here in this experience, I think that I was close to this, but I did not awake afterward saying to myself "oh god, I made it! I was fully awake/aware in the dream!"

Usually (<= that's a big word  ), when I become lucid in the sense that I am fully awake/aware, I invariably remember that I'm lying in a bed then I quickly enter a kind of OBE, that is I start to separate from my body, with distinct feelings. Then I wake up and have absolutely no doubt that I was in the process of projecting.

So, your comments point out the question I've asked above: does lucid dreaming means that you become fully aware/awake in a dream environment?

Well, there are many levels of lucidity. Sometimes people can be aware that they are in a dream but can't perform any special tricks, they only know that they are not awake so they carry out a more care-free attitude, but don't break the mode.

Other times they know they can be more daring, they can try to fly off high structures, face monster, but might still be afraid of injuries and may even doubt that they are truly dreaming.

On a higher lucidity level, you can perceive beyond the dream symbols, and deal directly with the emotions that they present. You might see an elephant and remember exactly where in your memory that image was stored, so you start seeing your dream as an outsider, cause you notice that your dream self is not really you, but a personification of your fears and desires.

Interesting.
So, one can become lucid and yet feeling somewhat dizzy...

SO...I may say that I had my first full lucid dream    weee

I must admit nevertheless that I envy those who get a high lucidity and have fun in the dream environment! Must be such an experience to talk to dream characters in that state.
