In two places at once (Dream and reality)

LOL I remember when I was little, I used to get so tired that when I closed my eyes, I'd consciously enter a dream, but I was able to shut my "dream eyes" and open my real eyes at the same time, thus waking up back to reality. I did this once some months ago in which I closed my eyes (I was very sleepy) and dreamed I was back in the house I used to live. I walked around and then my real eyes opened and I woke up temporarily like in a sleep paralysis for about one second, but then I shut back my eyes and continued to dream.
When I came back to the dream though, the house became somewhat distorted looking with the back door in a different place and an extra room in the hallway. o.O

Have you ever gone into some dream, woke up, then came back to it?

Yeah, that has happened to me a few times. Often, I am in two places at once in my dreams, simultaneously in control of two bodies, talking to different people in different places, etc. It's really strange. My more vivid dreams occur when I am unified in one place and they often become lucid, and then I can take absolute and total control over the dream. But I like to leave room for creativity. Being completely in control is boring.
