Yes, you can absorb your partner's energy, whether he's aware of it or not.  You can also give him your energy--again, whether he's aware of it or not.  Since you're doing energy working exercises, your own abilities are going to become more active.  They may not, however, be completely under control at first.  That takes more practice.  I've seen a lot of people who are just starting out who occasionally dump or draw energy without meaning to.

Will this be harmful for him?  Probably not at the level you just described.  A person can lose a lot of psi without noticing, because we continually generate more.  If you were to deliberately attempt to drain him, to the point where the drop in his field is quite noticeable, that would be different story.

Ok, so I take it that personal energy can be exchanged very easily, gosh, wondering if I've been giving mine away as I'm always tired.  I also take it that ailments can also be exchanged?  So I will have to assume that eventually I will have control over the energy, after I've been energy raising for some time, or do I have to do special exercises to learn to control the energy - I wonder...  Does this energy have it's own intelligence (seems to me that it does) or am I subconsciously directing it?  WHO is really in control here?  

The more I learn, only serves to show me how little I know...

For what it's worth, two of my father's friends, and some other random person (qigong instructor, healer, and an astrologer) seem to believe that energy has intelligence.

If you have any spare time, you might want to check out the book The Living Energy Universe. It's about a theory cast in modern, scientific language that hypothesizes that all physical things, including the void, store information and evolve. It has to do with energy exchange and vibration. It's meant for the casual reader.

It uses the theory to explain why heart transplant patients sometimes gain habits and memories from their donor, among other examples.

Dunno if I really buy it, but time may prove me wrong. It's an interesting read.

Ha yes, and I have to say that this is a very healthy attitude. The belief that you know everything, and especially arrogance, can only slow the flow of knowledge (oops have been there!).

Anyway...

Yeah people exchange energy all the time! It is a natural things for all living creatures. Ailments, well yes in theory I think they can. Some russian scientists during the cold war did an experirement where they put two cell next to eachother, but completely seperated physically by a glass screen or something. Then they infected one cell with a dis-ease and, keeping the other cell still isolated, observed as it developed exactly the same disease. Interesting stuff.
As for energy and intelligance, well this is how I see it. Energy supports consciousness, but is a different thing. However, energy can gain consciousness of its own, if held into a tangible form for long enough. Magickians use this for the creation of servitors, they form a distinct creature and give it tasks, but over time the creature (which was previously like a machine) will develop sentience and its own agenda. It is usually about then that the practitioner either cuts all links with it, re-absorbd the creation or destroys its energy base, cos it won't do what its told so easily after that.
With raising energy, well it is you raising it, and it comes in pure and without associated consciousness. Yes, I think the unconscious has a large effect, I have had difficulties recently raising energy using NEW methods and so have had to evolve my own, hey I have some complex psychology!
Oh, another of-interest: Romero was discussing some experiments his society was doing to try and prove the existance of energy to sceptics. They got one of them to pull as hard as he could on a newtonmeter to measure the maximum force he could exert. Then an energy master drained him of most of his energy, and they got the skeptic to do another pull - result was he could only pull something like a third the force. However, it could be argued that this was just because he was tired, so the energy master transferred all the energy back to him and he was able to pull the same amount as the first time. They were stumpted!

One thing I read in a chi kung book is that when two people live together and one starts working with energy, it can help the other person. If the second person starts the same exercises (it makes for easier comparisons) the time required to learn the exercises is often shorter. When two people live together, their energy is very easily shared. It works both ways. The energy is familiar, though, so it is not as easy to be aware of as it would be to share energy with a new and unfamiliar person.

Sounds like Tia is experiencing a phenomena where the techniques she is using are depleting her Energy.  Your loving partner, in his sub-conscious snoring stupor (I love alliteration and use it often), felt your need for Energy and tried to give you some of his.  Since he's not working with NEW he has loads of Energy to give you.

While I'm no adept at this, I can offer some advice for boosting your energy reserves.  Before engaging in NEW, "ground your self" by absorbing Power and Energy from the Earth.  This should let you ward off potential colds, flus and other illnesses, while keeping your Energy level high.  And your partner can keep his energy and snore all night long.  


How long have you been working with the techniques to raise your energy level?  And I think everyone here could learn for your examples of using it in every day life when we're waiting for something else.

Howdy All,

Another possibility is one of balance; a higher energy state/vibration will transfer to a lower energy state/vibration (not deliberately or maliciously) in order to balance each other out.

Eg.  A bowl of water, divided in half by a barrier.  On one side the water level is higher.  Remove the barrier (physical contact/close proximity) and the water level will even out between the two.

Energy is fluidic in nature, and, like water, seeks balance.

It follows, then, that since you had been doing NEW and your own energy levels were higher there may have been a transfer of energy from you to your partner.  In which case, he may have had a better nights sleep or some interesting dreams...

I can't agree with the suggestion to use earth energy--it's not the same type of energy you produce naturally, and it may in fact make you MORE tired to store it in your body, even if it makes you hyper when you first draw it.
If your energy level is low, try doing some energy circulating exercises, listen to active music, etc--more stimulation will increase your body's production of energy naturally.
But it may be that the energy that's low isn't the type you're using in NEW.  Look to your diet, stress level, sleep patterns, and such.

That makes sense, would also explain why sometimes when you first meet someone you feel that you dont like them/feel uneasy when you dont even know anything about them.  Hmmm...  So telepathy must be just a transference of energy.

So - the energy from doing NEW, is not going to my physical body, where is it going?  My energy body.  What good does that do me?  Maybe I can dream better.  Big deal.  I'm not too interested in Astral Travel, why am I doing NEW?  Aah, help...

I am not entirely sure what you mean here, but the creatures you create exist, I think, in the real-time zone, and the astral, where a lot of there work is likely done. Kinda scary in some ways, but then us humans are truly creator Gods, and have a right to make as we see fit.

I am becoming obsessed with NEW.  Every day I discover something NEW with energy - it's amazing.  

Yesterday, I had to wait half an hour at the Opticians.  Rather than twiddle my thumbs, thought I'd do the NEW exercises.  I was rather blase as sitting in a waiting room with other people, didn't think I could summon enough concentration to actually raise any energy.  It was surprisingly easy, but left me a bit shakey and shivering.  I had the strangest sensation that my jaw was going to start shaking...  Anyway, to cut a long story short it was a very 'energetic' afternoon/evening.

I woke up in the middle of the night, no reason in particular, I reached over to touch my partner.  He was snoring softly but he grabbed my hand, lacing the fingers, and held it to his chest.  Immediately I felt as though my hand was dipping into molten lead.  I could feel this very heavy energy sensation rising through every little bone in my fingers and hand, the bones ached, when it reached my wrist I snatched my hand away.  The aching rose into my forearm but faded away at the elbow.

What happened here?  Surely I cant absorb my partners energy?  He knows nothing of energy, isn't interested and was asleep anyway.  I had no thought of energy or intent - how can this happen?  I didn't allow it to continue but what if I had?  Do I then deplete his energy reserves?  Do I then absorb his ailments with his energy?  I cant suddenly turn into a sponge and absorb other people's energy - yuck!  And if I can absorb his energy, maybe other people can take mine??

My theory is that he placed my hand over his heart chakra when it was active or something?  I have 5 million questions - where can I get answers?  Can anybody recommend some books I can read?  I really need to know more.

I sense this fear you have is intense.
Your Energy is controlled by your consiousness, If you belive that people can take your energy, then they can, if you dont then they cannot.
I would advise you not to listen to those who will try to make you believe that your energy can be stolen, because it cannot unless you allow it to.
Also, to fear something is to reject something, so if if you were afraid of taking energy from your husband then the chances are you did not take any.
On the other hand if you belive it it may have occured, kinda strange.
But it probably didnt in your case.
There is infinite energy in the cosmos anyway.
This is a fear that has to go, it does not belong inside you, but it is a good sign, because your are clearing away an energy blockage.
Continue to raise your energy level and this fear will dissappear.
Alternatively you could read this post and it could bring you such relief, that you could start laughing, this releases negative energy.
Remember you are in control of your own energy!!

I've had similar sensations, I did NEW once after my psychologist's appointment while I was waiting for my mom to finish hers. Got some neatness, the other guys there must have thought I was crazy the way I kept stroking my hand methodically... heh I love creeping the excrement out of people. I'm there for anger problems anyway.
