How do you visualize your chakras?

I don't know if anyone else has this or not but the visual representations I have seen on the internet and in posters representing chakras don't seem to mesh up with what I perceive my own to be.

Like the first thing I notice is that they look like a small circle disk but the orientation isnt vertical its horizontal for me. I am not sure if I can explain it but the 2D renderings on the internet look off to me when perceiving my own heart chakra.

This is the closest example I can get to what to I personally perceive. Although I dont see a human like shape but  definite giant 3D flowerlike geometric structure far more complex than a lotus flower or the simple chakra drawings.

Interesting the below image mentions 2D and 3D

That's because there is no "standard" view for them.  Hell, they don't even objectively exist.
Visualize them however you need to in order to use them to effect change in yourself.

Relying on physical manifestations (e.g., like pictures) to describe non-physical manifestations is riddled with problems from the start. So I do like Xanth's general suggestion to you, but I wanted to expand on a couple of things to maybe help you further.

First, I work with my chakras and my energy regularly (e.g., daily). I often find this work not only helpful but necessary. And, I have never seen my chakras or pranic tube - even when out of body. The first time I saw outside my physical body, I was working my chakras before falling asleep and then later awoke in the non-physical with my projected body spinning wildly on the other side of my room. Chakras are real, but all the man-made instructions about them is not.

Second, we actually have several bodies for our use in exploring consciousness. You can read William Buhlman, Kurt Leland and others to learn more about this (if further interested). I will focus on just two bodies here: (1) the etheric body (e.g., chakras, energy meridians) and (2) the astral body (our aura extending up to 3 feet around us). Each is unique to the energy levels we are consciously focusing on (e.g., when projecting away from our physical body). For example, if we end up projecting into the RTZ (real time zone) we are generally using our energy body or chakras. If we end up visiting higher levels, we are probably using our astral body. There is certainly more needed detail on this complex topic (and other bodies or vehicles), but I am going to keep this simple. Just know that when the Monroe Institute trains people to go 'out of body' (e.g., the Gateway program), they focus first on the two bodies that I am mentioning.

Third, I mention this level of detail because your green picture appears to be a different body. It appears to be a representation of an astral body (not chakras). This could be why your perception is much different, when comparing the image to your chakra pictures. You can explore this further on your own, and find some better answers for yourself when focusing outside your physical body.

Fourth, I find that working with chakras is helpful, but when I focus upon them before projecting, I always end up near the RTZ. The RTZ is the mirror copy of our physical environment and the lowest non-physical energy level. However, you appear to be naturally focusing with a bit higher energy (your aura energy). So, I am going to suggest ignoring your physical chakra pictures for now - and instead focus on feelings, perceptual impressions, non-physical sensations, etc. The "imposed" chakra pictures are keeping you analyzing in the left hemisphere of your biological brain. This is not a good place to project (or even dream) from.

In closing, you are asking good questions (it's just that the premises you were taught to analyze them were goofy). Hopefully this helps you a bit in your exploration of your non-physical bodies (and does not hinder you further). I can imagine more (and deeper) non-physical experiences happening very quickly for you.

I second Xanth's reply "That's because there is no "standard" view for them.  Hell, they don't even objectively exist.

When I visualize my Chakra centers I see them as simple basic things that correspond to the color of that area. Examples: Root/red would be a flame, Sacral/orange would be a simple Orange/fruit, Solar Plexus/yellow would be a Banana, etc.
I live by the adage "KISS", which stands for "Keep It Simple Stupid".

I normally try to focus on what they feel like though. Robert Bruce's NEW (New Energy Ways) technique taught me how to do that.

Your 2D/3D is about as complexed as the true Merkaba Meditation is. One again, I made a simpler technique that I practice daily. You can find it in this thread here. Daily "etheric" exercise can help you learn how to move that energy around. Vessen's Vehram program is very good for that as well. It teaches you why things are working the way they are working.
My previous name on this Forum was Lionheart. That's the name I used when I made the posts in this thread.

Dear Subtle Traveler!

Thank you for your useful informations, so to speak :D I really like it and gives me some answers in certain details about the whole energy body construct.

Sure. Not a problem. Glad it is somehow helpful.

Thanks everyone that was an interesting read. I realize that discussing the non physical poses great problems because it simply isn't viewed the same at all (Newtonian Physics). Meaning we just can't all stare at the same object and see it the same way.

I have Bob Monroes gateway tapes and have taken Dolores Cannon's QHHT course so...you know its like opening a can of worms. I have learned more than I could have ever imagined possible. I suppose too with all of this stuff it is really personal, like what meaning do you get out of what you perceive? But again, it is just the meaning you assign to it and that could be whatever.

However, I think the journey of understanding energy and perception once undertaken, is undeniably meaningful compared to "being asleep". Once I got really into meditation and taking my mind to theta and delta levels in hypnosis and I got to a point where I was half in another reality altogether. Where, the other reality at times made more sense than physical. And now I am back to physical being more logical than non.
