Very interesting. I'd say more, but I'm lazy.

Utmost Certainty

I was curious as to whether anyone on this forum was familar with any of the research conducted by Dr.Robert Becker.  He had apparently compiled extensive evidence in regards to a sort of secondary nervous system that ran throighout the body, that mirrored the exact locations of many acupuncture meridians (thus giving a scientific basis for this practice).  Essentially the system was composed of lines of primitive nerve cells that functioned much like a DC circuit.  He found that this system corresponded to another observable feat, the "current of injury".  Basically, if you place sensitive-enough devices around an injured location on an organism, you can measure a distinctive boost in electrical activity associated with that particular region.  More or less, the system conducts many processes which typically remain autonomic (not neccesarilly processes such as the beating of the heart), like healing for example.  Being of an electrical nature, it will also generate it's own electromagnetic field around the body.  Later, Becker postulates that the placebo effect, visualization methods, and hypnosis, when applied to body to overcome illness/injury/etc. work directly through this primitive nervous system, and through these afforementioned methods, we can indeed gain some conscious control over the system.  He also notes that various healers, are in fact capable of directing their own electromagnetic fields and directly affecting this primitive nervous system of those they are attempting to heal.  So I thought to myself and wondered whether this could very well be the same principle that NEW works off of, and not neccesarily something of the etheric realm, but an empowerment of a physical system.  Perhaps a culmination of both?  Anyway, it's 4:00 AM and this is not exactly as clear and articulate as I'd like it to be, but I'm definitely looking forward to some feedback here.  I'll be glad to clear up and/or elaboate on anything I can.  For any further reading, I'd reccomend a book called "Cross Currents", by Dr. Robert O. Becker.  Thanks.
