I am not sure, but it sounds like that.  Like phasing?  I am not read up on the phasing too much (not that I don't like the idea of it, just like to work on one thing at a time.lol)  I can't remember who said this but if you focus on the light or whatever looks out of the ordinary in the darkness..(I assume you have your eyes closed and are looking at the darkness behind your lids?) you should be able to phase right into it.  Perhaps someone who knows more about the phasing will read and comment on your post..[] Sorry I couldn't help more..[]

Thanks for the reply and links.
I've read them before and to tell the truth that's what probably happened. The event was just too quick and unexppected to react in a any way.
I'll see what I can do when it happens again

I had an experience that I think bears some comments from you guys.

I was meditating and working on clearing my mind when all of a sudden a bringht, incandescent pinpoint of bluish-white light appread, about the size of a *. It was sharp, stationary and at a distance I wasn't able to measure. Perhaps it was a large object far or a small one close by. I'm not sure.
At the same instant the light appeared and electrified feeling encompassed my entire bidy like a switch had been thrown. Usually the feeling starts gradually with a gentle wave pattern.
Still at the same moment a loud silence, if you will, seemed to emanate both from me and the point.

The point and the sensations lasted for some 5 seconds and then it winked out. The silence disappeared instantly but the electrified sensations lasted for a few moments longer.
