Ok... Well... A good exercise for drawing energy from the ground is as follows... It uses the NEW system, and since you're reading Robert Bruce's forums, I'll assume you've read about it on his site or in his books. If you haven't, you can see it here:

I just call this a standing meditation. I don't see a need for a fancy name, and I've never heard any other name for it, but was taught to me by a friend who has practiced martial arts his entire life and has a very "intuitive" approach to chi. I changed his visualization to the NEW system. It is NOT for those of you looking for an easy way to raise energy, and it will be painful the first few times you try it, most likely. But it is EXTREMELY effective.

Stand with your feet about shoulder length apart. Make sure your knees are slightly bent. To a certain degree, the more bent your legs are, the more energy you can raise... I'd go with a slight bend, but don't lock your knees up. Keep your back straight, eyes forward (not at the ground). Tuck your elbows into your sides, arms out in front of you, with your index fingers pointing towards each other... Sort of like you're holding a barrel or something in your arms. Curvature of the arms in this stance doesn't have a bearing.

Pre-stimulate if you feel like it. Begin raising energy from the ground, but instead of shooting it straight into your sub-navel center (which you could do, if you want... It's powerful enough in its own right, but..), curve it around into your left arm, shoot it out your left fingers, into your right fingers, and bring the flow from your right hand up to the shoulder, and then down into your sub-navel storage center. This will form a rotational effect within the energy, as well as working much of your energy body. Rotational effect is somewhat important, especially if you're raising the energy to affect physical objects, like telekinesis or something.

If you like to aid your energy raising with breath awareness, raise energy to the left hand with the inhale, shoot it out and into the sub-navel on the exhale.

I recommend starting with about 5 or 10 minutes a day. It's hard work, but if you practice daily, it becomes easier. That will probably be about a week. Doing it for longer will (obviously) raise more energy, but don't go out of control with it unless you're prepared for the consequences of having too much energy on your hand. If you get uncomfortable, or have too much energy afterwards... Refer to the NEW text, as it will generally be nothing that hasn't already been addressed there.

I personally find this technique to be great. I'd like to hear if anyone else has success with it.

As far as I'm concerned, there's never too much energy. Nice signature man. Can I have some of what that guy Chiu is smoking?

If I had some, I'd share for sure -.-

As for the energy... It's most likely not going to be harmful to you personally, but from what I've seen, people you hang around with will be quite uncomfortable, especially those more naturally sensitive to energy.
