dancing shadow spirit

Hello, I wondered if anyone knew what this might be or mean. My mom has been severely ill with pneumonia for 5 weeks now. She hopefully is on the mend. Sleeping round the clock the last two days and the coughing has subsided. Today she confessed to me, that she had been seeing a little shadow boy spirit (today is the first time he didnt appear). That dances as if dancing on water. She said he appears in relation to me . For instance when I run to the kitchen to get her something he appears and dances around for her as if to keep her company or cheer her up. Is she hallucinating or is there something to this? I would appreciate any input here.
