just thought I´d mention that I found oregano oil, possibly the foulest, most disgusting-tasting plant extract on the planet, to be the best thing to cure a cold or sinus infection ever.  It works... but it sure is nasty.

I've been awol for a while, but I decided to reply to this ancient post anyway because it seems people view it often enough.

The oregano oil zaps whatever is brewing.  I find a neti pot to be best for flushing out what's already been "brewed," especially just after waking and just before bed.  Since posting, I've also had great success using oregano oil against skin and bladder.

Yes, the pure extracted oil is extremely harsh, even on your throat, so you MUST take it in either honey or olive oil.  It's simply not palatable alone; you won't be able to get it down and it can burn your mouth.  I'd read that it's effective against skin tags but that didn't work for me when I tested it. 

Luckily, it is now available in caplets in a solution of olive oil, which is much easier on your system and WAY easier to take.
