I became a channel while healing

I was giving reiki, which was being gobbled up by the comatose person I was healing. I noticed white lights in the room with us.  All of a sudden I felt something come down through me and open up a flood of energy, using me as the conduit.  It was almost too much for me to handle and I started to black out a few times (but knew somehow that I wouldn't faint).  The recipient was sucking the energy so hard that it felt like a super powered vacuum.  I was giddy and felt joy.  After quite a while I "knew" that it was time for me to step aside, that the link had been established and "they" would continue to take over from here.  I am only Reiki I.  

My sister was also there, and in her way was trying to feed energy.  She felt the same things though on a smaller scale-- the night before was the first time she had experienced this type of energy, or energy word generally, when I tried to give her reiki and she was hit like a mac truck with sobbing, saying "you gave me your sadness."  That feeling subsided and she experienced it then as a calming ooze that made her feel better.  

We incidentally had spent the previous day calling on anyone we could think of to help the patient-- our dad.  A few days later, he left his body (he came and made a big show for us ) and a few days after that he was pronounced, and didn't recover.

My question at last: Does anyone know who "they" are that reached in through me to help him?  We called on everyone we could think of but we don't know too much about angels or spirits, we're just learning still.  I am agnostic, my sister is Christian.  I'd started to experience a huge amount of paranormal things about a month and a half before this happened, and still notice them.  I hope these experiences will continue.

By definition Reiki is channeling healing energy?  You don't analyse and diagnose, not Barbara Brennan style.  What you 'do' with Reiki is act as a conduit.

Sounds like a marvelous experience.  Whenever you ask 'why me', you usually already have the answer within yourself.  There are not such things as coincidences
