Does anyone know anything about this kind of Reiki and how it differs from Usui Reiki?

Do a 'Dogpile' Search.

Some guy a few decades ago put out a Public Relations campaign that said he Channelled some Ancient Egyptian Discipline of Light Therapy.  he was already connected with Reiki, and so he started selling Workshop and Seminar Tickets to fellow Reiki Enthusiasts.

But I wouldn't spend any money on learning such stuff.  If you are a Healer, than you are a Healer.  The Technique does not matter.  Any Genuine Healer will find their own suitable technique.  And Non-Healers can play Copy-Cat all they want, but Non-Healers will never be healers.

There was a Healer in South Texas more than a hundred years ago, Don Pedro Quarrimillo.  he was known for his whimsical and incomprehensible prescriptions.  Anything handy at the time became his Medicines.

The strangest Presciption ordered people to spread canvas sheets upon a pond, and then to lay down on them and paddle out to the center of the pond and float there for an hour while they napped.  Repeat every morning for a week and they would be cured.   Well, the Scottish Man who wrote the Book was amazed at these stories and remarked that he was surprised more people were not amazed at this 'Miracle'.  What 'miracle'?  It seems the Mexican's were unaware that a strip of canvas could hardly serve as a raft.  The Scottsman tried to explain but to prove him wrong, several of the people who had received this cure ran off and got their canvas strips to demonstrate just how buoyant they were.  Guess what?  It was comical as they repeatedly tried to float but kept splashing and sinking, splashing and sinking.  Finally it 'sunk' in that they had been on the receiving end of more or less spectacular supernatural miracles, in the order of walking on water, but had not known it at the time.

This is REALLY how authentic healing works.  It is not a matter of Technique.

How did Don Pedro get his Healing Power.  When he had been young, he developed an abscess on his nose that became infected.  The fever almost killed him.  After 3 days in a high fever an Angel came to him and told him that he could only be saved and spared at the cost of his accepting Healing Powers and dedicating his life to their use.

Hi Gillian,

Seichim Reiki is a combonation of traditional (Usui) Reiki and the almost identical ancient Egyptian energy healing technique of Seichim, or Sekhem. The difference is in the symbols and hand positions.

My wife first became a Usui Reiki I channel, then later went on to become a Seishim Reiki Master. It can be taught more quickly than Usui Reiki - my wife only needed one weekend to get to Master level, whereas Usui Reiki requires three weekend training workshops spread out over a minimum of 9 months to get to Master level. This is because Usui Reiki Masters teach that it is best to let a person spend a bit of time working with each level and allowing their body to become accustom to the flow of that energy before going on to the next level.

It is, I believe, every bit as effective as Usui Reiki.

One important note for anyone intending on becoming a professional healing practitioner - Usui Reiki is now recognised worldwide as a therapeutic healing practice. There are Reiki associations that can offer memberships that give practitioners big diascounts on liability / indemnity insurance for their practices. The same is unfortunately not true for Seichim Reiki. It has not gained the same level of recognition.

Blessings,
James.

Thanks for the info.

James - did your wife find that adjusting to the Seichim energy in such a leap difficult?

Leo Volont - Interesting view.  I agree and disagree.  On the one hand I don't believe that technique necessarily makes a healer, on the other hand I believe that everyone has the capacity or potential to realize some healing abilities.  From my experience techniques guide practioners to feel the energetic pathways and eventually intrinsically understand the principles behind them.

Actually, talents are divided up between people.

Look at how People evolved.  The optimum size of Social Groups is about 150 people.  Would each Social Group NEED 150 Healers?  Of course not.  We could guess that out of each group of 150 people there would be perhaps two -- an old one and a young one.

Also, to illustrate my point, there is a Kind of Person that does not get much attention, but they also are well represented in our Population Demographics at about the same rate as Healers, and these people are the "Cat Detectors".   These people, without having to see a cat, KNOW when a cat is in the area.  They HATE cats and will readily express their disgust of cats whenever one is around anywhere.   Now the talent is annoying and useless, but back during Human Evolution, when lions and tigers had been such a threat, such people had been very useful.

But not everybody hates cats to the level of a Sixth Sense, and not everybody is a Healer.

Hi Gillian,

Because she was already a Reiki I channel, it wasn't that much of a  shock to her system. For someone completely unused to being a Reiki channel, at can be quite unsettling for a day or two until your body adjusts.

Blessings,
James
