Traditional Magic(k)?
Let me see. If I discount healing, astral projection and physchokinesis (all things I can do) as psionic powers versus strictly Magic(k).
I tried a love spell to find a soulmate about 21 years ago, I've been happily married 17 years now to the one I found. (could have been telepathy)
My daughter has brown hair and brown eyes, and looks just like my wife, which is what I was trying for the night we made her. And I know for certain when she was concieved. My first "High Ritual" with a partner, although my wife doesn't know she was participating.(could have been physcokinesis)
I "hexed" somone that my wife was having causual sex with (don't ask, it's a long story, and I wasn't well at the time, it happens), and he has never been able to fully complete the act with her since then(much to my wifes frustration [:P] ) (could be subconsious telepathy)
I cast a "money" spell and got fired a week later. My new job payed more. I did it again and got fired 3 weeks later, new job payed more. I finally cast a "get out of debt" spell, trying for a different result, got fired, stayed unemployed for 6 months, got a new job that pays great, filed for bankrupcy and in 4 months we will be debt free (except for the Mortgage). (could be self rationalization, or I was reading people and tried to act after I guessed what was going on)
I have a 6-toed white cat with green eyes. My "colors" are green and white according to every witches grimoire I've read lately.(self realization of something I read, since I picked my cat out myself)
So, have I used magic(k)? or maybe just psionics? What do you think?
Have I studied Magic(k)? Yes. I have read and tried a variety of things from a number of publications (some no longer available, or changed heavily in new publications). Am I a witch? No. Do I believe in Witches? Yes. Do Witches have Magic(k), psionics, or are just metaphysically attuned? It doesn't matter, it's all the same thing.
To quote some fictional work "To be a witch, you must BE a witch". I spent a lot of years in darkness for denying myself. The moment I accepted who I really am, I snapped out of depression. I know I can heal. I know I can move things with my mind (albeit I'm quite rusty at the moment). I have had OOB and Lucid dreaming frequently.
Studying Magic(k) comes down to this: Why? Why do you want to study Magic(k)? Do you crave power? Are you lazy and want an easy way to ritches? Do you want to influence people? Are you simply curious? Has 3 Harry Potter and 3 Lord of the Ring movies affected you [:o)]
Power corrupts. The biggest charge for a teacher is to know what to teach and when to teach, but more importantly when not to teach something.

Yeah, my motivation for studying magic is merely to objectify for me that there is more than just the physical world we see.
Hi all, I am interested in learning magic and have looked at the book recommendations given in the sticky and downloaded heaps of pdf's like Egyptian Book of Dead, Emerald Tablet [of Hermes?], and heaps of others to get me started.
However, I want to know if anyone here who practises have actually done things via magic that wouldn't have occured otherwise. In other words I want to know if its actually worth all the reading and practice?
I do realize we all may have different motivations for learning it but I want to know if anyone has had real results.
