who gives a crap about your family religion or political views?

this crap is the reason that our world is the piece of crap it is.  because people like you know you're right and the other guy is wrong.

mods, do what you have to do, but i have to say it.

Edit: While a lot of us here probably share those sentiments, I can't really allow them to be posted.  Sorry.  I think everyone can kinda guess the content anyway.  :)  ~Xanth

Rudy has been dealt with.
The polite way to put it is that he's been asked to leave.
Let's move on from this and continue to share our experiences in a more positive environment.

Now, how about we all share our Love for CFTraveler!  Perhaps we can lure her back here if she feels it!!  :)

C'mon everyone!!

CFT!!!  Please come back... it won't be the same here without you.  :)

Oh and PR, grats on your 3k posts... four posts ago.  ^_^

personalreality

you suck ryan.

i don't remember what i wrote now, i wanted to at least pm him.

hitler.

oh, and thanks.  3000 is a lot.

CFT, come back if you want.  Don't if you don't.  It's up to you.  Do what you do.
be awesome.

also, i wish we still had the thumbs up/down thing (i don't remember what we called it), because if we did, NoY, you'd get a thumb up from me.   :-D
be awesome.

hope you're not talking about Xanth's beloved karma system

Stookie_

I didn't see this thread until now, after it was pointed out to me. CFT was one of the few with a good amount of real experience to share and 1000's of posts across the internet to back her up. It's another instance where a situation could have been handled much better. I'm seriously bummed. It's hard to find good, legit, non-egotistical people who know a lot about AP without trying to sell it too. I think this a big loss for the forum, but at least you can find her on other forums.

personalreality

agreed 100% stookie.
be awesome.

The system, like most things, had it's good and bad about it.
In the end, both Stookie and I (who were the only mods at the time) felt it just didn't get the job done which it was supposed to.

I think implementing something like it in the future that fits the needs and provides a better end result will come along eventually.  :)

i was just kidding.  don't bring it or anything like it back.
be awesome.

Yeah, that system was bad news- started way too many arguments, and made people too self-conscious.

I've seen systems where there's no negative side to it.  You get points, but you can't have them taken away.
There are much better systems than what we had previously.

I'm sure if we eventually come to a decision to add one, that it'll be the right system for the forum.  :)

Stookie_

What does a forum have to do with points? Words and content are what matter and what a person should be respected for. Not the number of posts or points or stars or smileys. There's already enough junk to distract us from what's important.

Xanth

I like that a point system shows newer forum members who the dedicated and perceived knowledgeable posters are.  Anyone can post quantity... not everyone can post quality though.  And a points system would definitely show the quality > quantity dimension of a member.

The point system we had was bad because it was abused... and people used it as an attack method upon others by smiting them (removing points).

Newer members should use their own thinking to decide who they see as knowledgeable, and not based on what the majority think. The majority are normally wrong and the reason for so much mediocrity. The majority like Justin Bieber.

Xanth

I think the noisy minority likes him.  ;)

A point system is a guide more than a rule.
