Okay here is a little bit of history, when I was young I had a OBE.. I was in my room just got done playing wrestling game with my brother, I was laying there trying to fall asleep.. Well I suddenly realized I left my body, and saw my body on the bed.. This scared the crap out of me so I tried moving, upon returning to my body my arms and entire body felt like it fell asleep, slept on it wrong... Well it's been years since and I still think about that moment.. Now after some research here I am.. Can someone help me relive this experience so I can master the ability?

A hearty welcome to the forum! I hope someone may provide you with information you find helpful. For now I would say, start by listening to your internal thoughts more. Become aware of your self and your environment. This may not seem as helpful or as direct as you are hoping for. I will allow others to chime in with additional details. We're all fellow explorers here. What helps me explore this space, has more to do with whether or not I am conscious or aware. That this experience has stuck with you all those years, and you desire to know more- this is a fantastic start. Be open, because answers may come from unexpected places and unordinary ways. Enjoy the ride~  :-)

Hi Thundar, welcome to the Pulse! I would recommend to start reading the stickies on the forum and the content because there is so much valuable information that will help you chose techniques, handle fears, see how other perceive the non-physical realities, etc. Feel free to participate in various discussions. I would also recommend reading William Buhlman's books as a start.  Dolores Cannon is another valuable author to check out. Others will recommend their favorites as well.

Hello Thundar, I will add some ideas and perspectives to consider to the good ideas already offered.

OBE and Astral Projection are essentially the same thing- A re-focusing of your conscious awareness somewhere else and beyond its usual location inside your head and within this present Physical Reality. There are multiple ways and methods for getting 'beyond', and a multitude of perspectives available to us; it is not just 'here' or 'there'. The 'classic' OBE you experienced in your youth is the most often reported first and early form of this separation of consciousness; but it is just the beginning. As we progress, we realize there is a vast complexity to this idea we call consciousness and just what we can do with it and where it can travel.

When considering consciousness perspectives, you already have at least several by now- Your present awareness centered within your head and this Physical Reality. Another perspective was your OBE in your youth. Also, your nightly dreams are an obvious form of unconscious re-focusing of consciousness/awareness, both non-lucid and lucid, the lucid being a form of dreaming bringing almost complete awareness into the picture. And, like the other forms of focusing, your lucid dreaming focus can be improved with knowledge and practice.

So, a lot of this begins with a more clear understanding of where we are and what we are trying to accomplish.

And here lies a dichotomy that we shouldn't get lost in too early. Much of the literature of OBE speaks to the idea of floating out of one's body and floating around your apartment/dwelling...and this is what happened in my case as it does with many others. You will also find in some of the literature a complete repudiation that this is what is actually happening, that it is actually a form of understandable misinterpretation on the part of the experiencer based in a physical body perspective. Personally, I am still undecided on the matter; having had dozens of my own 'etheric' OBEs, it certainly seems to be what it appears...but I remain open to changing my opinion at some future date. My point is to make you aware of this but also to strongly advise just go with whatever experience you are getting, be open to differing experiences but just always go with them and go with the flow as best you can; don't fight the experience. This is an ongoing learning environment.

Nonetheless, for the majority of us who do start out with these 'classic' OBEs, they do change at some point...and this is where the next concept comes into play, which is Phasing or instantly shifting from this Physical Reality to another Non-Physical Reality. It can happen through your normal dreams, a lucid dream or an opportunistic moment early in the morning or during an afternoon nap...you are relaxed and tired in just the right way...and you shift. You can learn to do this by becoming more aware in your dreams by expressing an Intent, even better when you find yourself in a Lucid Dream (LD)...just express an Intent to go somewhere or find somebody.

So, my point in this post is to help you become aware of the wider context of consciousness that you are already operating within. Write your dreams down, keep a dream journal...ten years from now it will prove invaluable if you keep up the practice, you will see patterns and clues to unlock. Pursue the standard OBE, but be open to the Phasing exit, as well.

As LB mentioned, up in the Stickies on the first three Boards are good reads- Xanth's free Primer, Personalreality's How I Got Out For The First Time, Lumaza's Doorway thread, Symptoms/Signposts...

Have fun and feel free to ask!

In short, back then when I started out it was this book that helped me immensely attaining my first conscious and wilful OBE after a while.

William Buhlman - Adventures Beyond the Body: How to Experience Out-of-Body Travel

He also does online workshops now, don't know if that also works but if this modern interactive form is more for you than book reading.

Thank you all for the replies! I will read and reply to each of them when I get some time!!! :)

Also, I'm currently working on being aware of my breathing and working on being aware of my feelings, kind of like letting myself feel them and observing why they make me feel like that and finding underlying issues... I think I am far from actually doing OBE's intentionally,, I am sorta going through a big stressful moment in my life so I had been doing a lot of therapy... Everything ties together from religion, mental health, and astral projection.. It is all so fascinating!! I believe in this whole-heartedly also because of my experience as a youth and being able to remember it so well...

I have a couple questions that I wouldn't mind some insight on!

I hear bad feelings bring bad experiences, however if I go in with the intent on getting healing and clarity will I get the guidance I seek? Or will I just be inviting a bad experience? I don't want to scare myself away, but at the same time guidance would be helpful! So I'm intentionally not trying to project right now because I know I am not at peace persay.....

Would anyone be willing to guide me through the process? Someone who is successfully projecting at will?? I am not asking for a teacher to teach me exactly how to get there, but rather a guide who I can message with when I get stuck or someone who can have random conversations with about this!!

Last question I have now... When your going to sleep (trying to project) Is there a soft ringing like noise? I don't know if I would necessarily call it a ring, but itcomes with silence and I can focus on it and it will get louder?? During the day unless it gets pretty quiet I don't hear it, I was just wondering if that is the sound I should focus on when trying to project!!

Thanks for the replies and thanks for being so welcoming!!

hi Thundar, in your situation I would suggest QHHT session which is developed by Dolores Cannon. Please read more about her, watch some of her videos on youtube to understand what is this type of hypnosis and its healing effects. She taught thousands of people to become practitioners. There are 3 levels of practitioners. Level 2 and 3 charge for the sessions. They have more experience, but level 1 and the interns are fresh from the course, they typically dont charge, but you can have good sessions with the. There are practitioners all over the world. If you go to this website and check for your area, you can contact a practitioner and schedule a session. You can have many sessions. During the hypnosis you are connected with your higher self which answers many questions. Healing can also be requested and many people have benefited. The sessions need to be in person though. They can not be virtual.

Feel free to share here anything you would like to discuss.
Inviting "bad" experiences depends on your beliefs.  Your "external" world is a mirror of who you think you are. If there is anything you dont prefer, ask yourself what do I believe is true about myself to have created this experience. If you want to change your experience you need to embody/assume the identity of the version of yourself who sees different circumstances in their life. You have to start behaving and thinking like that version. It may not be easy, but with perseverance, the reality does shift. Just dont cling to outcomes and dont set deadlines. Just enjoy FEELING like the version of yourself you prefer to be, and the rest is just science, reality does align accordingly.
