i have read alot of differant things about developing psychic abilities or regaining them, and it's all starting to confuse me alot, i have read that learning martial arts and meditating, sun gazing during safe hours and so on and so forth, as well as focusing on the third eye chakra is all supposed to help you develop psychic abilities and so far i'm unsure of what is realy helpful, and i know it's not a do it one night and you have it sorta thing i'm just confused. please give me a more enlightenment on the subject.

Ok, for the sake of clarity, I'll ask you- psychic abilities, like the kind you use passively -like esp, remote viewing, clairvoyance, clairaudience/sentience, precognition,
or the type you use, like healing, magick, and/or all the kineses?

I would say that you need to start with meditation, to allow your perceptions to expand their horizons, so to speak, and then go from there.

would martial arts help with meditation and will this help me to quite smoking as well? this is the only reason i want to do this (to quite smoking).

It depends on the type of martial arts.  Some martial arts use meditation and centering as part of the practice, some are excuses to whack each other.  So it depends.  The right kind of martial art is a form of moving meditation. (I'm not saying there's anything wrong with 'whacking each other' martial arts- I'm just commenting on the 'rightness' for meditation).
As for quitting smoking, I wouldn't say pro or con, but martial arts is all about learning self control (or it should be if it's any good) and it could be a good complement to quitting smoking, especially when you really want that adrenalin surge you're not getting from the cig.  In that case 'whack'em' martial arts may just be what you need.
So take that and do with it what you will.

Absolutely it is.  I took a different type of Kung fu (many years ago, before childbirth and old age) and one of the people in my group was taking Shaolin KF. and it had some of the best and most beautiful forms I have ever seen.  And the skill!   I hope you enjoy it, I'll enjoy it vicariously for you.   :-D
(That sounded creepy, didn't it?)

Kurai,

Why do you want those abilities?   Ask your self.    Perhaps what you have now is even better than what you think those abilities can bring.

kurai kokoro

i know exactly why i want them, it's so that i can better myself for the good of my soul, i do not wish to suffer for eternity for the wrong'ings i've done, it is truely redemption i seek, not power, but if psychic abilities helps with that then so be it, however i am willing to suffer for eternity if it is the only way. okay, that is all. and on a similar subject I AM willing to suffer for eternity for all of humanities sins against god, i would truely sacrifice myself.

I think that the last thing humanity needs is more of this imposed idea of guilt for sins against "God". The only ones that suffer the consequences of our actions are us, not "God". I think that the idea of genuinely loving something that you fear is ridiculous.
THE ANSWER PARADOX
The answer to all paradoxes shows this: "Reality contains logic therefore logic cannot contain reality."
The paradox here is "how can one know this is true?".

If the answer to one paradox is another then the question is the answer.

those who fear god only fear god because of their sins, cause they know what he can do. and just think about it, if you cut your self you would be cutting god as well, he feels our pain.
