My big problem with that article is where they say that "many scientists reject it".

It's not science's job to reject anything.  It's sciences job to find answers... outright rejecting something before there has even been any evidence found for or against it... well, that's just highly disturbing to hear and makes me want to REJECT all of science.

Science is no better than religion.

I'm waiting for the article, " Top Scientists Believe Consciousness Exists Independent of the Body". I'll be waiting for awhile...........

Mostly because they haven't even begun to seriously consider that as a possibility.
Most scientists are simply too involved in materialist thinking to go that far out of the box yet.

If this information is made available in our educational system,
especially for students/ practitioners in all areas of Health including Medicine, Emergency Services
then our CULTure will surely improve  :-)

Dr. Pim van Lommel, M.D.:
Continuity of Consciousness -
Conclusion

Quote
According to our concept, grounded on the reported aspects of consciousness experienced during cardiac arrest, we can conclude that our consciousness could be based on fields of information, consisting of waves, and that it originates in the phase-space. During cardiac arrest, the functioning of the brain and of other cells in our body stops because of anoxia. The electromagnetic fields of our neurons and other cells disappear, and the possibility of resonance, the interface between consciousness and physical body, is interrupted.

Such understanding fundamentally changes one's opinion about death, because of the almost unavoidable conclusion that at the time of physical death consciousness will continue to be experienced in another dimension, in an invisible and immaterial world, the phase-space, in which all past, present and future is enclosed. Research on NDE cannot give us the irrefutable scientific proof of this conclusion, because people with an NDE did not quite die, but they all were very, very close to death, without a functioning brain.

The conclusion that consciousness can be experienced independently of brain function might well induce a huge change in the scientific paradigm in western medicine, and could have practical implications in actual medical and ethical problems such as the care for comatose or dying patients, euthanasia, abortion, and the removal of organs for transplantation from somebody in the dying process with a beating heart in a warm body but a diagnosis of brain death.

There are still more questions than answers, but, based on the aforementioned theoretical aspects of the obviously experienced continuity of our consciousness, we finally should consider the possibility that death, like birth, may well be a mere passing from one state of consciousness to another.

Note: Anoxia causes loss of function of our cell systems.
In cardiac arrest global anoxia of the brain occurs within seconds.

We are spirit, expressing what we will.
We act out perSONAs on our stage of iMAGEination.
We are both the dreamer & the dream.
I think therefore I am.
I am consciousness & potentiality

My word. At last the world is opening to the wavestructure of all things. Energy is everything.
I hope they study the stars too., its then they'll learn the secret of the electron. Its hidden at present.
Well looking at the ways of scientific communities. This is another to put on the wacky list.
I can understand the findings too.  Remove the electromagnetic activity from the neurons and they'll not respond to electric stimulation.  They appear dead. They're inert for a while as in the NDE cases. Its what switches them off then back on again thats most interesting I will assume its to do with quantum mechanics.

Almost a beavis post..
Give it time and watch the news.

Many scientists hold alternative ideas... most can't voice their opinions because of peer pressure and ridicule.

Volgerle

Aggravating fact is the all-too-compliant mainstream media only parroting the "skeptic" "scientist"'s views based on materialism and reductionism.

Bedeekin

So very true. It's increasing. The media and internet in general is very bias at the moment and is seemingly on a mission to eradicate dualism and theism of any kind. I read an interesting article about Wikipedia and the concerted effort of paranormal articles being reduced by an increasing number of 'materialist police'. I'll try to dig it out.

Have the principles of quantum entanglement ever been demonstrated or is it just a theory. Sorry if my ignorance is showing but I'm no scientist.

I understand the concept but not the depth of it's implications.

Im still waiting for twin parallel particle beams in opposition anomaly on spin change.
Set up two beams, spin direction is chamged in 1 at a point and it changes in the other at the opposite point for absolutely no apparent reason. Ive had this knowledge since the 70's.
Working on parts of our local particle accelerators kick magnet circuits, I never met the guy to ask this question to. Annoying isnt it?
The BSC friends have no idea of its existence either. Also annoying.

Quantum entanglement is starting to be accepted. Maybe I'll find something on the net in 10 years or so. Until then, I'll stay annoyed at them all.
:-D

Thanks Beedeekin.

From data encryption to a battery power source, who knew?

I don't know Szaxx, we may not have to wait much longer. One thing I'm sure of, we are only being shown the tip of the iceberg as far as where they have or want to take this.

Im SURE they have all the cakes in the oven. Careful now you can get scalded if you take things not ready.
Read between the lines. Somethings are too damn interesting to put on the shelf.
John Hutchison, did I say that.
