i still havent had my first OBE :( but ive had many lucid dreams. of course ive only been researching astral projection for about 5 days :P ive been reading astral dynamics about 3-4 hours a day. the excercises are really interesting and effective :)

You know, Rellik, the weirdest thing about it was that when I felt my heart chakra going nuts, it wasn't deep within my chest.  It felt more like it was just under the skin in the center of my chest, like a really spastic nervous tick on your skin, located where your heart would be, just under the surface of the skin.

RelliK

pretty weird, is it like that for everyone? o yah and one question. how long hafve you been practicing/researching astral projection before you first projection? my friend told me it could take months :( but hell, maybe if its devoted enough it shouldnt.

thx :)

I'd been studying it on and off since my initial experience ages ago, but when this occurred, I had been studying the techniques in Astral Dynamics about a week.  It may have been a lucky fluke, but it was sure reassuring that OBE's are very real and distinctly different from imagination and dreaming.  I've lucid dreamed a few times, but in this, you feel completely wide awake and seperate from your physical body.  It is all exactly as the book says.  Hopefully having a few successful ones under my belt will make it go easier.  ;)

my friend told me to buy the book a while ago (months), so i did. i was extremly skeptical about it all, but abotu a week ago i all of a sudden started believing it all and reading the book non stop, and doing the exercises. i predict my first OBE to be in about 4-5 weeks, hopefully. :)

I predict that with your level of determination, you'll have no problem.  ;)

Hello.  Last night I experienced by first conscious OBE, complete with motion and "awakeness" and wanted to share it with people who would fully understand.  But maybe a little background first.
My only other previous OBE experience, triggered accidentally about 10 years ago was unconscious and somewhat frightening.  I had been laying down for a weekend afternoon nap (gotta love those), when I drifted off, only to suddenly realize that I was feeling "fuzzy" and that I was being lifted from the bed.  I heard alot of strange noises and voices around, got scared, and felt myself hurled back into my body.  I woke up.

Since then, I had discovered what this event was and had read several books on the subject.  But, sadly, most of them seemed more intent on introducing an esoteric tongue-twisting vocabulary than providing helpful instruction.

Then, recently on Art Bell's Coast-to-Coast, Robert Bruce made an appearance.  I ordered Astral Dynamics and read through it once immediately and then started reading it again for practice.  The book was written to be understood and used in a common sense, conversational way with great humor and depth.  That's what prompted me to come here and post this message thanking him.

After a week of nightly deep relaxation exercises (even great to do when you're not trying to project!) and energy center work, I entered the light trance state and began my favorite awareness exercise (the big bicycle wheel one, although sometimes I get vertigo from it) wherein I felt I was drifting off to sleep.  Perhaps another failed attempt.  :(  Then, a few minutes later, my body was feeling an indescribable intense feeling of...like...a combination of static electricity, high-speed vibration and a feeling that my PHYSICAL body was unreal and out-of-focus (that was highly unexpected).  Moments later I was ejected upwards towards the ceiling of my bedroom which I could see clealy, I "swished" (for lack of a better term) into my backyard where I hovered about 12 feet above the grass and looked around.  The feeling was simply astounding!  Then I rememebered Mr. Bruce's advice to keep it pretty short on the first few trips and noticed that there was a tugging at my back.  I reached out and found my body "behind me" (I could feel it as if it were part of me, but not with me, very very odd) and willed myself to be in it.  At which point there was a feeling that I was a bucket of warm water being dumped into my physical body.  Very pleasurable actually.  My eyes opened and there I was, back in my bed.  I still felt somewhat staticky and fuzzy so I consciously worked on "closing down" the energy centers a bit and it all calmed down.

Anyway, thanks, and any and all suggestions would be greatly welcome!  And thank you again, Mr. Bruce.
