Title: astral musicians?
Post by: sorbmal on March 21, 2012, 00:55:58
Hello everybody,
The astral world has been such a new exciting thing for me which i discovered about four months ago.  To start, I am a musician and music is my life.  My mother has been into spirituality and metaphysics for years and i just started getting into it as a sort of way to better myself and clear my mind to find new inspiration and motivation.  I first heard of astral projection in a book I read about Jimi Hendrix (my idol)  :-). Apparently he did this frequently and gained a deep knowledge of the universe and himself musically to expand his consciousness and his creativity.  I have been working hard at it but havent succeeded yet hopefully i will soon.  This is my first post and I was just wondering if there were any musicians out there who use astral projection as a tool for somehow getting new sources of inspiration, or just anyone out there that can relate.  Any insight would be much appreciated  :-D

Welcome sorbmol,

I am a musician, 20+ years of jazz, theater, and VG music composition.

When you use your imagination you are actually leveraging the 'astral'. In short, you have been doing it all you life.

The answer you want though, I have for you.  :-D

What you need to practice is getting to a F18 state in a conscious exit attempt.

This is a not a full sledged astral projection, but rather a 'deep meditative state,' you will quite literally be able to float in you own consciousness (without feeling your body) and compose whatever you like, summon any instrument from any depth of your memory and play it all back in 360 degree surround sound. All while feeling Euphoria. Sound pretty good, right? It is.

F12 will work too, but no where as near as effectively as F18. I have to tell you now though, this will be a relatively long journey from anywhere from 20 - 80 personal practice sessions before you really start getting what you want. There is a tremendous amount to learn and implement. It is all very frustrating too.

Well off you go. Search around this site. Read read read. This site is a treasure trove of knowledge. You are going to have to synthesize many different perspective before you get an actually coherent picture of what you are trying to accomplish.

I recommend starting here:
